Hey everyone, wondering if you guys can help me diagnose a problem, I have 85k miles stage 2, the problem got worse after new spark plugs. When should coil packs be replaced? What else could it be? There are no codes btw, Thanks
Definitely not engine knock, you will KNOW when engine is knocking lol. I think there was a thread about something similar ways back but cant remember the thread name. I think it may be your exhaust flaps causing the sound but it does not sound anywhere serious or catastrophic.
I am experiencing this same exact sounds with my car. Only happens while car is idling and doesn't affect car performance at all. I haven't changed plugs yet and I'm around 44k.
I have 35k miles, had a misfire in cylinder 1 & 2, and error code for low fuel rail pressure. Doesn’t help that I’m stage 2, so I changed the coil and the 2 spark plugs underneath to test out the problems and the misfire and error codes went away.
I've had the Mexican jumping bean sound ever since I ran a burble tune (2 years ago). I've just given up after taking it to 3 different muffler shops and 2 different Mercedes mechanics. Although it did go away temporarily when I installed NGK spark plugs...but it came back about 2 weeks after. I just call them baby burbles now and dealt with it. It's only on idle anyways.

Was the sound "crick crick crick" when accelerating hard out of a corner? If so, that's the same issue that @George_1992 has. I've driven his car and it's like a click sound when you're next to a wall as you accelerate. He's is a prefacelift coupe.
