2018 C63S Sedan - Widest Toyo R888 rear/front

Hi everyone! I’m just hoping for a little clarification.

I’ve read every thread on this topic and I’m fairly certain I know what I want to order, but would just like some final clarification. I contvtell of coupe and sedan are the same fitment.

I have 2018 C63S Sedan tuned with cat-less downpipes on 19” factory wheels. I’d like the widest stickiest tires I can fit without rolling/pulling fenders.

Will Toyo 305/30/19 R888 work in the rear and what’s the appropriate match for the front? If you’ve done this and have pics I’d really love to see them.

I previously had a stock 2016 c63s sedan and loved the 295 ps4’s I had, but looking for more grip this setup.

Thanks!!

@RDO247 probably has the most real world experience on here with that setup. I think you should be able to fit a 305 on there.

I agree. RDO247 has posted very helpful information including wheel fitment and tire specs and has shared many photos for those doing a max effort.

OP, if you're keeping your stock 19" wheels and they're the common size like mine, they're 9.5" wide. Although some have installed a 295 on the stock 9.5" wheels, it's not an optimal fitment. (just reread your post and see that you may have already tried that setup previously)

I've pasted an excerpt of the table from Toyo showing the min, as measured, and max wheel widths they recommend. This was for the r888r. They only listed up to 18" wheels on the r888 when I checked. Looks like the 285/35/19 is the widest fit for the 9.5" per Toyo. It will be about an inch taller than stock, however I know that folks are running a 295/30/20 on the sedan, which has a similar diameter. I wouldn't expect that to be problematic but will show a slightly lower than actual speed on the speedometer. These are just my observations from researching similar topics. I've not tried these tire fitments myself.

305/30ZR19 (102Y) XL BSW 6.3 104290 10.5-11.0-11.5

Good luck. Please let us know what you end up going with and how they work with your power level.

Thank you for the insight. I was thinking I had read the wheels were 10.5” so if they are 9” that changes things for sure.

I measured the wheels this morning and they are 10.5” x 19 on the rear wheels.

I went ahead and ordered the Toyo R888R in 295/30/19. I figured this way I’ll be able to see how they look and since they’ll only last 6-8k miles anyway, on the next set I can stay the same or go bigger if it looks like I can fit them. I’ll be doing the fronts on the next set too, but these current fronts still have plenty of life left.

They're being installed Thursday, so I’ll report back then on how they fit and feel!!

let me get this straight: you have OEM sedan wheels and think you measured them to be 10.5” wide vs their spec of 9.5”. So, you either don’t have sedan OEM wheels (previous owner put coupe wheels on?) or you measured wrong. Something does not add up. Btw, OEM wheels have their spec stamped inside!

They definitely measure 10.5 outside lip to outside lip, but I’ve never measured wheels before so after reading your comment I searched and realized it’s bead seat to bead seat so 9.5 is more likely. I’ll look for the stamps tonight though to confirm.

I was able to dig up the original window sticker and it list an upgraded wheel set. Shows “662 - 19 inch forged cross spoke wheels, black $1750”. Maybe this makes them wider? Probably not though.

Or its possible the previous owner switched with coupe wheels. I hadn’t thought of that. If he didn’t, and they’ll fit, i think i might have to do that myself.

the upgrade items are the forged cross-spoke wheels that are 9.5” in rear. Just want to make sure you are aware as 305 on 9.5” is a bit beyond what I would feel comfortable (safe) with.

Yeah, I won’t be going 305 now without a wheel change. I thought they were 10.5 just not knowing much about rims.

Hopefully squeezing the 295’s on there won’t be a problem. But if it is I guess I’ll order 285. I had 295’s PS4’s on my 2016 a few years ago and they worked fine.

Thanks for your advice, I appreciate it!

My friend runs 295/30/19 r888r on his sedan. 305 was too big for the wheels.

Did you get the 295 R888R's mounted? What do you think of them so far?

Yes!!! Love!!! The tire shop said they were a beast to get on the rims, but they managed. They fit fine with no rubbing on the car.

They are noisy, but not terrible, just a little humm. OMG though, they are sticky!! Definitely a must do!!

Almost no spin when set to 33psi. The tire shop set them at 50 psi and they seemed really wobbly driving. When I got home and checked I was shocked. Dropped the pressure and drove again and night and day obviously. So so sticky!!
