can it measure knock and ignition timing for Mercedes?Originally Posted by cls5504matic
hptuners is pretty easy to use to log. Some tuners you can just use openport 2.0
Does anyone get wheel spin without the TC light kicking on (sport traction and TC off)?
I put 100oct in at the track yesterday and on the way home it was spinning at ~80 in 3rd at WoT (TC light coming on). It will do it with pump gas but won’t trigger a light in sport traction at ~70 in 3rd - the tach will jump forward about 1k rpm then come back but no light).
I’m trying to figure if I’m spinning on 93 and that’s the cause of my slower 60-130.

@noremaC Trying lowering the tire pressure and make a 60-130 Dragy pass after the tires are warm. The lower pressure will help with traction and you should see an improvement in your times if you are spinning. I had to do this when I was logging and tuning last during last winter to avoid wheel spin to get clean logs. If you lower tire pressure and get better times on 93 octane then maybe you were spinning and TC was kicking in. If you keep the same tire pressure and get better times on 100 octane then you may have been knock retard and timing pulled while on 93. Ultimately if you are able to datalog you will be able to see exactly what is going on. If you cant log with Verstand, I highly recommended HPTuners. If you cant get HP tuners you can also use the Torque app and an obd2 bluetooth dongle (Not that accurate bc of low data capture) but better than nothing and will give you an idea of what is going on. yup, all good points. Tire pressure is something I need to play with. Tires hover around 48psi, so probably need to lower the rears.Originally Posted by AMGMD

Even with 5gal of 100oct, the car buries the tach a lot quicker in 2-4 gears, so I feel like its something to do with my tune. Data logging will be the next step.

yessir that will log it. And you don't need any further credits. Here is a video I made to show you the channels to log. I guess I have to show how to add the channels??? But it should get you started:
