Any winter tires available for C63S coupe/cabriolet?

Has anyone successfully outfitted their C63S coupe or cabriolet with winter/snow tires? If so, what tires and wheels are you using?

I’ve looked all over the Internet (including here) for a good answer to this, and can’t find any. It seems like the non-S and sedan both have options, but the S coupe/cabrio are much harder to find something for.

I have a 2019, and just moved from a place where it never snows to one where it snows all the time. The local Mercedes specialist thought he could get me set up, but he was looking at the non-S model, and the 18" wheels he ordered for me simply wouldn’t fit over the brakes.

(I currently have OEM 19" wheels all around, with summer 285/30ZR19 and 255/35ZR19 tires on them. But I’m not only happy to replace the wheels, I’d actually prefer it — the OEM wheels keep cracking on me, which is a very expensive problem to fix.)

Just checking the tire sizes in my MBUSA TIRE PROGRAM, I see a Pirelli Winter 240 Sottozero II MO BW that are available in the front and rear in the correct sizes

are you looking to get new wheels as-well? i see that you'd be happy to replace them cause they keep cracking on you..

The Pirelli is pretty much the only one available and seems you have to get them through dealers. Tire Rack for example doesn't list any winter tires and there are no wheel/tire packages. You pretty much have to stay with the stock wheels. Smaller wheels as you discovered don't fit over the brakes. The S coupe is not particularly a winter car, but there are some folks in Canada using it in the winter as far as I know. I think they are all on the Pirelli.

Also, I think you mixed up your tire sizes. You seem to have the staggered setup. The rears are 20". The standard 19" wheels are 245/40ZR19 and 265/35ZR19 (AMG Twin 5-Spoke) and those I believe have more winter options. So you'd be going down one size in the rear and more narrow front and rear, which is ideal for snow.

Not sure where you are located, but I have a winter wheel and tire set that I ordered last year for my 2020 C63 coupe that I used for about 500 miles. Here are the details of what I ordered, it is a square setup but I had no issues with it, slippery mode works wonders. if you are around north east I am looking to get rid of them since I am selling the car. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

sorry for poor image quality just copied from my old invoice

i have the oem 19/20 setup on my 2017 coupe so i just bought a set of winter rims and use a square 255/35/19 setup for winter on michellin alpin pa4 and it works pretty well

I also have 2019 C63S coupe ( purchased new) and that October was luck to be able to purchased a set of Perelli Winter Sottozero 3 from the MB Dealership. They stored the tires for me until I was ready to have them installed. Tire Rack and others were out of stock or on back order.
My other option was to purchased a set of the AMG Twin 5 spoke rims but did not like the look. 19" Square set up.
So every year I have the tires swapped on my original beautiful AMG Forged Cross Spoke Black staggered setup.19/20.
I purchased the 4 year Tire and Wheel package.
If you do have this staggered set up the photo below will show the MB dealership # for the front and rear tires these are next generation Pirelli Sottozero 3.. Winter tires.
I was informed once they run out that can be it for the year.
I feel very safe with these tires but have not driven them in a snow blizzard.

@superswiss

What year was that screenshot? Maybe in previous years it was the 265 in the rear and 245 up front?

The 2021 C63S coupe standard 19" wheels (the RSW option) are 255/35/19 up front and 285/30/19 in the rear. I specifically wanted these wheels when I custom ordered my c63s coupe.

That's from the 2019 DOG. Looks like it might have been a misprint.

I can't seem to find the brand of rims I got but I got them from Tunerworks in Calgary Canada and they fit and look great on my C63s coupe - I would reach out to them for the brand if you're having that tough of a time finding something .I went with a square set up to allow for rotating each year with 255/35/19s and Michelin Alpin PA4s.

Cool C63s Winter Tires

I installed 255/35R19 and 285/30R20 Pirelli Winter Sottozero Series 2 tires on my 2021 C63s Coupe in October 2021 and went through a winter north of Toronto last year without any issues. In 'Slippery Mode" the car handles well for RWD and I only got stuck once on my driveway that had 6 to 12 " drifts. Anything would have a got stuck that day, h

owever, it would still be nice to have 4 wheel drive somedays. I mounted the tires on my 19"/20" AMG Cross-Spoke Forged Wheels and use a set of Avant Garde wheels for my summer driving with the original Mercedes tires.
