Hi guys, I'm in Australia as you guys may already know. Just wondering when updates are usually released? My last update was a while back.
UPDATE: I called Mercedes Sydney today to book my car in for a map update. I originally was booked in for an "Express Service" as advised by the parts guy I spoke to. After 10 minutes I received a call from customer service and had advised me that they couldn't update the maps in the dealer because I hadn't booked in a Service and they couldn't help me because it has to be done at the same time!
I said that's not right. I pay a seperate subscription for Mercedes ME and all the app's associated.
I ring Mercedes Australia and they pointed me to the right website, which happens to be in the post by a member below.
How can these people treat their customers with such contempt? It's just amazing how they made the excuse that it had nothing to do with them but palmed it off to Mercedes Auatralia saying it was part of their terms and conditions when it clearly wasn't!
These people wonder why sales drop, these people will be driven out of Australia or their sales will be so low that it won't be worth staying! Terrible Terrible auto company! The worst thing is that no one cares!!

There are map updates twice a year. The most recent one was just pushed on Jan 20. My car is currently installing it, but there haven't been any firmware updates since the one above. I just had my annual service done and I complained about intermittent black screens when starting the car and there was an update for COMAND that they installed. Looks like MB isn't really pushing out firmware updates for COMAND via OTA.
I suppose I don't know how often the AUS maps are updated, but yes, the home region as configured in the Mercedes me web portal gets updated over the air. The other regions have to be updated manually by downloading the full update from the portal. I usually do the manual update before the OTA update gets pushed out or after. If I do it before, then it skips the OTA update, but FWIW, below is my recent OTA update history. As said, it's currently working on installing V24.0 of the USA western states. I already have the full update downloaded and the SD card is waiting in the car. Once the OTA update is done, I'll start the full update. The updates are paused while the car is parked, so it usually takes a few days for me for the install to finish.

It's the same URL for all countries as far as I know. Once you login, it'll redirect to the country specific site based on your VIN. Then click on Manage Services and then Online Map updates which takes you to here:

Ive just completed the update. Used a USB stick and inserted it inside the dash where the cup holders are in the middle console. Updated in 10 minutes. What a Rort Mercedes is! Mercedes Sydney are just nothing but Criminals! This time around, believe it or not, Mercedes Australia was a great help! They guy in the line made me understand where to go and download it myself.
Actually pretty easy. The imbecile at Mercedes Sydney insisted I needed to book the car in for a Service or they wouldn't do the update! It's downright the worst customer service you could possible provide considering the update took no longer than 10 minutes.
Note: You can only download the material or new map from a PC. Prepare a USB and insert it into a port in your computer.
Step 1. Go to Mercedes-Benz.com.au
Step 2. Press little man in the top right hand corner of the page
Step 3. On the drop down list, go to "Dashboard".
Step 4. Go to "Manage Digital Extras" . (May have a round blue circle.
Step 5. Select "Map Updates".
Step 6. Select Country on the Map, should come Ip automatically as it detects which region you are using.
Step 7. Follow on screen instructions. You may need to install a "Mercedes Installer" on your computer which pulls the info from the website and loads it onto the USB inserted from Pre step 1.
I hope this helps people who are looking to update maps if it doesn't automatically do so over OTA. Please PM for any help.
