Sorry to hear you’re going through that on your new car. Is it a C63S coupe? My car was spec’d and ordered by the dealer. I put down a $5k deposit after it had already been built and was waiting for a ship, as surprisingly no one had claimed it yet. It was spec’d 99% how I would’ve built mine anyway so I’m really thankful for that.
Yes, is a c63s Coupe. I think the difference is that your dealer already had the car built and it was just pending shipment once they had a buyer.
This makes me wonder if my car is in fact not already built, because in your case, it seems shipping was not delayed at all. Since my car was done being "built" in January, according to them, my car should have "shipped" before yours. My car would need to go from Germany > Los Angeles > Honolulu, but I don't see why it would delay shipping this long.
Thanks a lot for your info. It's helping me quite a bit while I investigate the status of my car, haha. I do know mine has a VIN, has a PO Number, and says "final inspection", though it has been saying that for months along with "remove freeze" and "prepare for delivery" over and over. Congratz on your car though! I'm so jealous!

Probably not. Any continued payments on the old car are just wasting money, and if I bought out the lease in cash, there's probably a question about taxes paid as well. The only way it would be worth is somehow finding a private buyer who would overpay. The buyout would have probably been near the dealers' ask, so there's some risk there in the gap in the sales price. It is easier for me to just Uber, though it's possible that buying out the lease could have saved a little bit of money. I really don't drive much, just to put it into perspective. In the 36 mo. lease term, I drove it about 3,500 miles!

No prob…my car was already at the port in Germany waiting for a ship before my dealer found a buyer. It shipped a few days after I put down the deposit. I don’t know the exact build date, but I assume it couldn’t have been completed earlier than March because the DOT dates on my tires are from 02/23.

The facts the stealership gave me aren't adding up. I put down my deposit on October... and if it was really done being built in January it should have shipped before yours.
I went over my build compared to yours, and the only differences I can see are "H31 Natural Grain Grey Oak Wood Trim" and "L6J AMG Steering Wheel in Nappa Leather". Unless one of these two items is the cause of the significant delay, I can't help but wonder why I can't get any answers. I suppose the wood interior could be hard to get, but the standard wheel they undoubtedly have. Even if this is the case, why can't the dealer tell me with certainty?

I think I'm just extra irritated too because I can't really go back on the deal since I'm getting the car at a really good price. If I get my deposit back, they're just going to sell the car for way more to someone else and then they're really winning!

If that’s what’s holding up your build, then it’s worth checking if they’ll let you change it to cf but seeing that they’re not even giving you any straight answers, it seems your best bet is to just wait it out. Since you’re in Hawaii, I’m assuming trying to find one on a dealer lot in the lower 48 isn’t even an option at this point.

I actually have another piece of information that maybe might mean something. On my "Configure Print" from the dealer the base price of the 2023 C63s is $7,777,777. However, my dealer just crossed that out and put down $81,850 and we went from there. I really hope that doesn't mean I ordered at the wrong time during the shortage/pandemic or something. $7,777,777

You should be fine. That $7,777,777 price was probably just filled in as a placeholder when they printed the spec sheet, probably before the dealer knew what the 2023 C63S coupe's MSRP would be. $81,850 is the correct number for a bare bones coupe.
Tomorrow morning, my 2023 coupe should arrive from Ohio. I was very fortunate to close the deal @ MSRP while most dealers are charging $5-15k ADM's especially on high spec builds such as mine. Shipping from OH to Texas via enclosed trailer was a reasonable $1500. I'll post more pics upon taking delivery.

Just got my car back from the PPF shop. I went with a full Xpel stealth wrap, and 30% ceramic tint all around with 70% on the windshield. For anyone in the Houston area wanting to get PPF or tint, Tuan and his crew over at Clutch City Customs are super nice, very detail oriented and do a fine job. I'm overall very pleased with how it turned out.
