Wider Tires on C63S Coupe - Do 275 Fronts Rub?

I swapped the stock tires to 305R / 265F 4S tires on my 2021 coupe. While there were no issues with this setup, the correct size would’ve been to go with 275 fronts while running 305 rears to keep the stock aspect ratio. The reason I didn’t do that is because I read about so many conflicting reports regarding the 275’s rubbing. Some claimed they rubbed, some said no rubbing whatsoever. Can anyone who’s mounted 275 fronts on their PFL Or FL coupe confirm 100% that there’s no rubbing?

I need to order new 4S tires for my 2023 coupe asap so any insightful replies on this topic would be greatly appreciated!

I put 275/35/19 tires on the front of my 2017 C63 coupe and have no issues at all with it on the stock suspension.

Thanks, that’s great to know. What tire pressures are you running?

I usually keep it around 33-35 psi in the front. And that is with the PS4S tires.

have only experienced a slight rub in the rear with the 305/30/19 one time when I had a full car (around 700 lbs of people, including myself) and went over a big dip in the highway.

I have 275 up front. It’ll even fit 295 no problem with some camber up front

Also running 275s in the front and there is no rubbing. 275/305 is the widest combo possible without any other modifications

Awesome, thanks guys, thanks everyone for confirming! I have the answer I was looking for, so I’m gonna go ahead and order 305R / 275F 4S tires sometime next week.

What modifications would they need? I'm looking to get 19x10F and 20x11.5R (or 20x11R) wheels and going with 275F (PS4S) and 325R (R888Rs). I was also considering 275F and 305R or 315R (this would be 305/35 or 315/30) Would this combo work? I've seen a guy running 325s on his coupe, but don't think he's active anymore and can't find any information.

I think I'd mainly lean for the 305/35 for the extra sidewall but want to consider all options to put more meat on the road. I'm on stock suspension and no real plans to lower it.

Depends on the offset of your wheels. I don't think you can run a 305/35/20 in the rear without major rubbing (stock height). I have 20x11 +50 offset with 305/30/20 PS4S. When I was lowered, it rubbed horribly. Had to put stock springs in the rear to make it drivable. This is only for coupe, by the way.

Gotcha. I think I may have been mixing up the front and rear aspect ratios. I'll see if I can find more information. Nice car! I've got a 2018 Selenite Gray C63s. Sounds like I might to make a 315/30 fit on the 20s depending on offset etc. I'm wondering how much of a difference on the street the 315s would have over the 285s with about 1.2" of extra meat per tire. Could try the 285s and see how that works.

There's a guy on here that runs 315's albeit on more of a drag set-up (believe 18 or 19"). Not sure what his specs are. 99% sure it's a black coupe - although that doesn't narrow it down at all, haha

Do you have the 20R and 19F stock rims? Or the stock 19”’s all around? If you have the former, why not just stick with the stock rims if you want to run 305R and 275F? This is already a proven setup on stock suspension with no rubbing.

I've got the staggered 19F/20R. I don't love the idea of stretching the 305s over a 10.5" wheel. The R888R recommended wheel width is 11", and maybe that 1/2" won't really make a difference in the grand scheme of things. Toyo only offers a 305/35/20, so I think it would be too tall with that extra sidewall. They do, however, make a 305/30/19 or 315/30/20. I could run a 20x11R and run those 315s. When it comes to wheels and tires, there's just too many options and configurations that it gives me decision paralysis. I did end up finding a pretty helpful thread to help guide me in making a decision, though, but I've still got some questions that hopefully the individuals I messaged can answer.

I also have the staggered multi-spoke 19F/20R oem wheels. Lowered on KW HAS with 15mm spacers all around. Will probably go with 4S instead of PSS on next set of tires but I think will go with oem tire sizes 255/35 and 285/30. I think 295/30 will rub/hit the rear fenders. The 4S tires are more square than the PSS. I could upsize on the PSS but I dont like how the PSS drives compared to the 4S. We'll see though. Right now both the front and rear have a little room in the wheel well to fill..

I just ordered Michelin 4s 305R’s and 275F’s. I’m gonna mount them on the stock rims. I had no issues with this setup on my ‘21 coupe (except I had 265 fronts). The 305 4S tires fit great and don’t look stretched. It would’ve been nice to have an 11” stock rim but it’s perfectly fine to mount 305’s on a 10.5”. My M6 has 10” rear ACS wheels so the max I can go is 295.

Are you not using the oem tires that came on your 2023 C63 and swapping those out asap?

Yeah I’m going to swap out the OEM tires and probably sell them. But I won’t do this till end of next week when my new tires arrive. They’ll probably have less than 150 miles on them when I put them up for sale.

2017 c63s Coupe Wheel specs.

Hey guys, going to revive this thread by asking your opinion on whether this setup will fit on my 2017 63s coupe

I’m currently running OE spec

19x9 et 25 fronts 18mm spacer
20x10.5 et57 rears 15mm Spacer

new setup I’m going with is
20x10 et 10 front
20x11 et 43 rear

car is currently lowered on eibach springs so there is a little bit of standard camber but not adjustable.
