W205 C63 Sedan Suspension

Has anyone changed their suspension setup and made the ride a lot more comfortable? I have driven quite a few other cars such as the f80 m3, g80 m3, etc and they tend to ride a lot softer than the c63. I have had my car for 2 years + and the only thing I hate about it is how stiff it is, you feel the smallest cracks in the road? Has anyone changed out the stock suspension and actually made the ride comfortable? I have heard Nitron suspension could take care of me as they would build a custom setup for my car however wanted to hear people's opinions. And I know some will say it's a sports car it should ride like that LOL but other competitor sports cars aren't even close to how stiff the w205 c63 is.

The E 63 S facelift has a softer suspension via software (or perhaps hardware but most likely software as it seems that MB was providing it to pre-facelift customers in Europe). https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...re-update.html

not quite sure if that is a thing with C 63 S but as you know the facelift C 63 S also had a softer suspension.

With the adaptive suspension that isn't really a thing. You would have to rip the whole thing out and replace it with something different and then lose the ability to adjust the suspension via DYNAMIC SELECT. Most suspension mods on these cars replace the springs to lower it, which ultimately affects comfort even more negatively as the suspension travel gets limited.

The PFL W205 sedan is the worst riding C63. It has the stiffest suspension for no good reason. The PFL coupe rides better. AMG deliberately tuned the suspension for more of a grand tourer. As said above, the FL has a revised suspension that's not only more comfortable, but also more dynamic. Have never driven a FL sedan, but the FL coupe rides great. The changes are hardware and software. The spring rates have been lowered and the dampers have been overhauled, along with changes to the dynamic engine mounts and other chassis components. I do have to say I was still a bit disappointed with the ride on the stock Pilot Super Sport tires, but ever since I replaced them with the PS4S the ride and handling is excellent. There's a level of S Class wafting now on the highway in Comfort mode, so much so that I mostly keep the suspension in Sport at higher speeds or Sport+ when I hit up the canyons, but for around town driving and long highway cruises Comfort mode is quite nice.

I have driven a PFL sedan before I eventually bought my 2019 coupe and I found it terrible. I drove a PFL coupe subsequently and it was much better, but there were still things I didn't like about the PFL, which is why I ended up with the FL. Tire pressure does make a big difference, too. Make sure you use the normal load pressure found on the sticker inside of the fuel door. The max load pressures that are listed on the door sticker make for a brutal ride. Also consider different tires such as the PS4S depending on what you currently have. Also, how old are the tires? The compound gets hard at around 6 years and that's high time to replace them. Generally tires don't last this long on these cars, though, unless it's driven very little.

I have had the new C43AMG sedan back in 2000, it felt like they had no springs on it handled great, but but would knock out teeth fillings if present. I never had a track car ride that rough. Not even a truck!
Now a 2017 C63 AMG, that I'm not happy with the ride, but can likely cure that. Over the years, I have had S class, SL class and many C class sedans MB's for wife. All of those had great suspensions. Porsche 911's & turbos starting with 1970 and up to 1996 were great road cars for trips. Many other cars also. I do like good cars & A/C.
Was not allowed to chase women, spouse is OK with anything else I bring home.

Interesting that you feel like the W205 rides rougher than the F80 and G80 M3 line as I've been through all of those and had the opposite experience.

Went from a F80 (2016) to a W205 (2018) and thought the ride was WAY better in the C63.
Then went from the 2018 to 20221 C63 and the ride was the same, to be expected.
Due to an unfortunate incident the engine blew in my 2021 (water issue....long story) and it was totaled by insurance (91K replacement quote from Mercedes....on a 83K sticker price car, yeah right). So I purchased a 2023 G80 a few months ago to replace it. In my opinion the G80 rides way rougher than the previous two C63's.

I would be curious to know what tires you have on your C63 though as they can have a fairly big impact on overall ride quality. I know on my F80 I switched from whatever the stock tires were to Continental contact sports and the ride did improve quite a bit, fwiw.

I do mostly two lane paved roads, for enjoyment. I don't enjoy driving between the gard-rails on four lane roads for fun.

The stock suspension on my facelift c63s was pretty comfortable already, I switched to KW V4 and it's even more compliant over bumps while being glued to the road. The car has always rattled a lot which may add to discomfort but when my music is playing, my car is gliding!

I have no rattles, just a choppy ride over uneven roads. My SLK AMG32 had a much better ride, I just needed a back seat for our dog.
