W213 pre face lift - suspension software update
Great news! I just received a call from my Service Manager and they were able to apply the software update the rest of the world received for the E63s (mine is a wagon) that has been unavailable in the US. I am picking it up in a few hours and will report the changes.

that is true but since it is adaptive suspension software should be able to do most of the changes since you just want to adjust damping. I can say after having it done it’s a big improvement. Based on what I have seen others says who have driven the 2021 I suspect this is really close if not identical. Technically they wanted $199 for it but my dealer split the cost on it.

In the 2021 they made change to the suspension to make the "comfort" mode more comfortable - in short the damping is better and it rides smoother. It still isn't an S class nor should it be but the one major comment MB received on the E63s was that the suspension wasn't well damped and was too rough in comfort mode.

I believe it can be since the guts of the cars 2017-2020 are the same so I wouldn't see why it can't. Let me look at my paperwork and see if I can get the info for you.
Also interested in the specific update number.... post a pic of your dealer invoice for the service.

AMG E63 Hammer Wagon. Alfa, Rover, Ferrari, Porsche.
As superswiss points out, there are some hardware changes as well but if this helps the pre-facelift ride then great, it needs it. I wouldn't call it a dealbreaker, but it was certainly less than ideal. Choppy on anything less than perfect roads.
I hit the easy button and scored a 2021. Enjoying it, definitely a much smoother ride in all modes. I feel like the handling might not be *quite* as sharp as my 2020 was, but it's hard to compare months apart, might just be perception, and even if it's true it's definitely worth it for the vastly improved ride.

Can you please provide a scan of your dealer invoice for the update? My SA seems to be unaware of it.
I'm not sure that anyone is insinuating that the software update will make the ride quality identical to the 2021 cars.
Speaking from my perspective, I realize there is more than just a software tweak to the 21's to make them ride the way they do. However, I do think that there may be some software tweaking that could potentially improve the ride quality - which seems to be the case in this supposed update.
FWIW, I am not upset with the current ride quality I have today, but I'm always willing to increase comfort where possible.

I've been tempted to ditch the summer tires for all-seasons to get rid of some of the harshness but would much rather try this first.

I've had it done on my car, on comfort YES it is more comfortable , but the car is raised higher then before, so its like they lifted it higher then before to make it more comfy, which makes the car looks ugly.
good I had an OBD2 lower module by the center screen, so I lowered it like before and now its the same as they did not do the software update .
