Rear Control arm modification for camber?

So I have a 2017 C63s and I do all my own work on my cars. I can’t help but notice the slot in the rear lower control arms of I’m pretty sure all w205 vehicles.

Why can’t we just dremel out that slot alittle bit to be able to adjust the lower control arm for camber? Yes I know it can slip if you hit a pothole and etc, many manufacturers use that same slot style for adjustment and then just tightening bolt where u want to control arm to stay. Please somebody agree or disagree with me. Any thoughts?

A lot of other manufacturers camber adjustment can bolt is one the control arm with the spring as well though. I do have the camber king rear arms just haven’t installed yet, I just don’t know why those hose would be slotted like that if there wasn’t a possibility or purpose

On the coupe you can adjust rear camber via shims. Im surprised that almost no one knows about this

Thats interesting, so I wonder why the sedan can’t be done the same? I know the coupes are different than sedan from front fenders back…..I’m really considering dremeling out that spot to be able to adjust. What’s the worst that happens? Is doesn’t hold and skids back into the original spot anyway? It’s not like u need much movement pretty less than a 1/4 inch would take out enough negative camber to not eat tires

So it’s slotted and the shims just have the bolt opening in different locations to make sure it doesn’t slip and each shim is a different adjustment….thats a w205 coupe? My rears are aluminum, just wondering if the clamping alone of the bolt without a shim would still hold the adjustment pretty decently?

Hi…BACKGROUND…

1) W205 Sedan and Wagon have the steel rear arms with the slot.

2) C63S Coupe has the alloy arms with wedges positioning the inner bolt.

3) W205 Airmatic models have alloy arms also but no slot or wedges.

For #1 where there is no Camber adjustment we manufacture #502226K kit which provides up to extra 3.5 degrees Pos. or Neg. Camber (more then enough to resolve costly, premature edge tire wear issues (or to improve handling on “Track days”) kit includes extra rear Toe adjustment to compensate for addition of Camber.

No special tools or need for arm removal to install. Easily accessible to adjust - Unique Patented design allows precise single wrench adjustment. ULTIMATE - direct on alignment rack UNDER LOAD.

#2 C63S Coupe has wedges. Can purchase “offset” wedges but only allow one degree (Neg. or Pos.) and not precisely adjustable !

While the “replacement” K-MAC kit provides SERIOUS ADJUSTMENT (up to 4 degrees extra Pos. or Neg.) and all the same features as above #1 (502216) - direct on alignment rack under load. #502326-1K

#3 W205 Airmatic K-MAC kit also provides up to 3.5 degrees Pos. or Neg. Camber and also all the same features of #1 ! #502326K

SEE SPOILER Re QUICK REFERENCE BOTH “FRONT” & “REAR” ADJUSTER KITS
