C63 stages and upgrade performance

Hello! I currently just bought a 2020 c63 convertible and I’m loving the car. Only thing is, i feel as if the car wants to go faster. Trying to figure out on how to properly get it where i want it to be and have been laying out a few things but i definitely need some help!

Oh yeah you've definitely got to upgrade it being a facelift convertible and non "S" model. A Stage 1 ECU + TCU (Transmission) tune with K&N Filters (no downpipes or intakes) will see you close to 600BHP and will make a massive difference.

I actually miss when my car had just a Stage 1 tune it was very good for the street and went hard. Even though it would run out of puff up the top end it was just about right. But as the years went on I got itchy for more power and upgraded the turbos then the car became a bullet but sacrificed the low end torque that was readily available with the Stage 1 tune. And that torque was the best. Ahhh memories 😮‍💨

Yeah being a non-S and a convertible will feel a bit sluggish. The S doesn't have crazy more power/torque, about 34 more horses and 37 more torque, but the convertible weighs ~200 lbs more than the coupe, so that's like having a heavy male adult in your car at all times. Not that AMGs are lightweight to begin with, but you gonna feel that. With the S coupe I've yet to feel it needs more power on the road, even when I hit up the canyons. The only place I felt it needed more power was when I had it on the track a couple of times.

Biggest issue with the convertible is the additional weight. If you up the performance you may wanna look into beefing up the brakes as well. It's one thing to go faster, but another to slow it down afterwards. The S has larger composite front rotors. Also keep in mind, more torque/power means more wheel spin. If it can't put the power down, then there's no point in adding more. You'll just light up the rear tires from a dig. The FL S also has the 9-stage traction control which helps with putting the power down more effectively.
