I feel like it takes longer than usual to drop to idle on cold start

2017 C63s converitble
I feel like it takes longer than usual to drop to idle on cold start
with a month of ownership, i feel like the car takes a little bit longer to drop to idle on cold start than other cars (of engines of all shapes and sizes)
am i crazy or is this normal? i typically dont like driving off when it hasnt dropped to idle, but damn i dont have that much time to wait haha

Yes, it takes pretty long to drop to idle. It also does it more often since one of the ECU updates I got. It's to heat up the cats quicker.

Funny thing is i used to think the same with my c63s since it had a sec cat delete too and thought the neighbours will start to complain that its too loud as I go to the gym at 5am.

now the gt r has downpipes so i just havent taken it to the gym yet since its even louder hah

Does it help if you park inside the garage and then start it up?

not ideal but immediately put it in drive or reverse to calm the beast down just not sure if that damage the transmission.

its always in the garage but that makes it even louder coz that cold start starts bouncing off the walls. First world problems haha but all good as tough luck for my neighbours once the weather starts warming up

I see, never mind, I thought the garage door would help insulate the sound. Guess i completely ignored physics and the resonance in a confined space. Hence why it sounds so good in tunnels. I call them amg sound chambers.
