SunTek Ultra/Xpel Ultimate PPF Installer (GTA)
Hi gang.
New here. Just waiting on the arrival of my Magno Platinum 2014 C63 507 edition sedan from Heritage Valley MB It's in mint condition (under 4,500 KMs) and I want to keep it that way, so I'm thinking about wrapping the entire front of the car in either SunTek Ultra or Xpel Ultimate matte PPF.
Does anyone know a reputable installer in the GTA? I'm willing to pay for a top quality install, just looking for input and/or suggestions.
Many thanks!

I would wrap the whole car. I was looking at a Magno 507 and apparently matching a touch up is almost impossible. Spend the extra money and get it done right if you want to keep it forever.

Before you do the PPF, you should have it fully detailed and have the paint corrected (if necessary).
there are many in the gta.
Thornhill Tint (Richmond Hill)
Advanced Automotive Film (Brampton)
Concept Wraps (Mississauga)
AP Shield (Markham)
Auto Links (Scarborough)
And lastly, the top dog of all, as mentioned in car forum such as Audi, Porsche, etc. Patrick Casavant, clearchoiceppf. 416-985-5987 theclearchoiceppf@gmail.com
https://ca.linkedin.com/in/patrick-casavant-91290591
He used to do exclusive work for Downtown Porsche ONLY for all their car wrapping needs and his work has been praised as flawless. The possible drawback is he may be extremely busy and hard to get an appointment.
Right now, the only ppf film I am considering is either Xpel or 3M Pro. Suntek is okay but those two would be the current elite film manufacturers in my book.
For me, I have gotten quotes from a few thus far and leaning towards AP shield to give this shop a try. I am having the car fully wrap at about $5000 + taxes. The other quotes are very similar, +/- $400

Thanks for the input, gents.
@MB Marco, I have a 2011 GTI with 160,000 kms on it with no PPF. The front certainly has stone chips, but there's nothing on the sides, roof or rear. I honestly don't know if it's worth the extra $3,500 for a full wrap. Besides, I'm not one to keep cars for much more than 5 years or so.
@bobblehead, I'm surprised to hear you mention 3M as all the reviews I've read have said 3M is inferior to SunTek Ultra and Xpel Ultimate. I've got a couple weeks before the car arrives so will investigate the installers you mentioned.

The paint is already in excellent condition and yes, I plan to detail it prior to having the PPF installed. Having said that, paint correction is normally to even out the clear coat (fine scratch/orange peel removal). Since this is a matte finish (with minimal clear coat) it doesn't show the same sort of issues as a regular paint job. I'll certainly clarify with whomever does the installation, but I believe a good wash and matte paint protection would be fine.

for the 3M, I am referring to the 3M pro, which is a relatively new redevelopment/enhancement to their ppf (I know their old line of ppf is not very desirable in the past with many issues), some have argued their '3M Pro' would rival Xpel Ultimate. I guess everyone will have to do their own research to see what is best for their car, but still, the utmost important factor is the installer and how will they stand behind their work and how do they resolve any installation issue.
If I am to go with AP Shield, then they have 3 ppf choices for me, Suntek Ultra, Xpel Stealth or Hexis BodyFence. Before I decide which brand to use, I would likely have to do some Q&A with the shop owner for further evaluation.

Completely agree, it's all down to the installer.
BTW, I just spoke with Patrick (we actually live in the same town) and he referred me to another installer in Mississauga (gtaindetail) as he's limited by location at the moment.

Oh! Patrick cannot do the ppf job ? I guess he is really tied up. GTAindetail (does detailing only) works along side with Advanced automotive (ppf film installer) in the same location.

Patrick just doesn't have a suitable place to do a detailed install ATM. Hood, fenders he'd be OK with, but bumper is a lot more involved and requires a clean installation location.
Yes, It's Marco who works with gtaindetail that Patrick recommended.

Also considering of doing just ceramic paint coating (like Ceramic Pro or Cquartz Finest) instead at a much cheaper price, given the ppf needs to be replaced after about 5 yrs time or so (as some shops and even film manufacturers recommend to remove the old one and replace with new film due to degradation of the film over the years)

Just to update this thread, I ended up going with AP Shield and have nothing but good things to say! Great couple of guys and top notch work. I highly recommend them.

Yes, just the front (bumper, entire hood, entire fenders and mirrors) in Xpel Ultimate Matte. Very tempted to go back later to have the rest of the car done. At least the highest impact areas are covered

I got fenyl lab coating done on my c43. So far it’s amazing. Love how water beads up on it and how slick it looks when clean. Has a 5 year warranty too.
