Any smokers?
The obligatory Cafe Con Leche to start the round...then the UF13 Liga Privada (so much smoke from this little guy) and the new Montecristo Media Noche (draw perfect...medium bodied...and distinct coffee/cocoa undertones...damn nice offering).
Evening cigars...Padron 80th Anniversary w/Mac 18 (El Primo Padron) and a Hoya de Monterrey Edicion Limitada 2012 (damn great out of the box...no aging required)

Never heard of the Feral Pig, but it sure got my curiosity up. Looks like a beautiful cigar. Unfortunately not a one to be found.

Jon: as always, jealous of the sticks you have readily available to smoke
Kreuz: wow those PDR's are aesthetically pleasing and was the leather overpowering or did it die quickly after a light undertone?
i was camping at Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara with my good friends and enjoyed a couple smokes ourselves. our lineup consisted of Kristoff Maduro, Nub Conneticut, Gurkha Beauty, Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne, and DPG Legado De Pepin. Out of the sticks mentioned, i would only recommend the Perdomo, Nub and the Kristoff. Gurkha was complete garbage for both of us. Both of the Beauty's that were smoked were terrible, extremely, unbearably tight at the shoulder, green bitter young tobacco, unforgivably long soft spots, and at least 4-5 tobacco stems/veins in each stick. Hopefully the rest of our Beauty's aren't of the same construction. I did not enjoy the DPG LdP either. Ridiculously uneven light, hard to draw, nothing but overpowering and off-putting leather. I will however revisit the DPG as they were smoked right off of the truck and under extremely windy conditions.

First up is the Liga Privada #9... I mean, what can be said that hasn't already... PHENOMENAL smoke, lots of cream, perfect amount of spice, and A+ construction/draw/burn.
Next up is the Tatuaje Cojonu 2012 box press... I liked this MUCH better than the 2003, for whatever reason. It was an absolute gem of a smoke, with the classic Tatuaje "OMG this tastes like a Cuban" flavor.
A few days later, I had my first La Gloria Cubana Serie R... it was the Maduro, and a fattie. LOVED the flavor -- quite a bit of spice on the first 1/2", but the flavors mellowed out beautifully and treated me well. I picked up notes of espresso, earth, and oak. Truly a great smoke, and I will be buying more.
Next was the Tatuaje Havana VI... A smaller stick than I normally smoke, but a pure treat. Paired very well with my favorite German brew.
Next was a FDLA... I tried the robusto, and while I didn't hate it, it certainly was no match for the Gran Toro. Won't buy this size again.
Rounding out this post, is the old standby -- Padron 5000 Maduro. The notes of chocolate and cedar on this cigar are simply a treat, and as dependable as rain.
The other night my buddy came over for a long overdue smoke & scotch night... Went with one of my new faves, La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor (A Don Pepin/Ashton meeting of the minds). We killed the half-bottle of Johnny Walker, then killed the remaining 4th of a bottle of Glenfiddich 15... thankfully, we didn't have to mess with the Grouse that much
Next up was a BIG surprise: the San Cristobal Coloso. This was a giant cigar... notes of toasted wood, roasted nuts, some sweet spice, and even a hint or two of nutmeg. Possibly the most gorgeous (colorful) label I've ever seen... but this cigar is a keeper. And guess who has a part in the blend? Don Pepin Garcia, and Ashton.

I think from now on, if I see those two names in conjunction with ANY blend, I'm buying five of them... just because.
Last but not least, I had a little gem from Cuba arrive... God bless my sweet friend

The Feral Pig is a Liga Privada

Generally I like Gurkhas, but I haven't had the Beauty yet. Every brand has its dud... haha

Padron 5000 Maduro. Such a solid smoke that provides a fantastic full flavor.

Some Chianti 08 Red Wine accompanied by a San Lotano Maduro of course by the pool

Placed my order on best cigar prices for Padron 1964 Anniversary Diplomatico Maduro Churchill's
I cannot wait to dig into those bad boys

Before buying a box, I'd simply spring for a 5-pack...

I'd recommend the Papagayo XXL (6x60). The big ring gauge really allows the breadth of flavors to be exposed. A 5-pack of that is only $45.00
I concur with the review below...not the infused sweetness of the CCL but still the influences of coffee/cocoa are unmistakable. You smoke this with you favorite cup of joe or java and it'll be a great night.

This isn't the #2 Torpedo, BUT I still think this is a good way to test the flavor... might have to consider:

the draw was spot on, but a punch cut would've been better. flavor's weren't as complex as i had imagined it to be, but there were at least 2-3 transitions throughout the smoke. got some good earthy coffee/espresso notes, with a touch of underlying sweetness and leather towards the end. smoked similar to a ramon bueso tbh. gonna see how they are with a couple months on them.
flame suit on!
