the draw was spot on, but a punch cut would've been better. flavor's weren't as complex as i had imagined it to be, but there were at least 2-3 transitions throughout the smoke. got some good earthy coffee/espresso notes, with a touch of underlying sweetness and leather towards the end. smoked similar to a ramon bueso tbh. gonna see how they are with a couple months on them.

flame suit on!
LOL no worries on the flame suit... the only thing I put a flame to is leaves

Humidity might have played a role, BUT it's humid as hell here in Middle TN, and no issues with mine. Resting helps, but I also am curious about the lighting method. ADC cigars prefer an accurate torch, evenly toasting the foot and once toasted, draw the heat up through the smoke. That's been the method that has worked for me, and you can see the sharp, even burn in my pics.

The flavor change is right on with what I've experienced... I think it's fair to say it's a super good smoke for ~$8 a stick...

yeah we used a table top lighter that he received as a bday gift and that was our first time trying to light stogies with a table top. and it was a bit difficult to light becuase the slightest wind would make the flame go crazy..

Bingo.

I recently got a Xikar lighter (Liga Privada edition, posted a few pages ago) and it's a work of art, BUT it has a soft flame. It's technically wind-proof, in that the flame won't extinguish. But the flame is spineless -- the slightest puff sends the flame dancing around in a circle, lighting everything but the cigar.

My old mainstay is still the Colibri torch... I can seriously write my signature in the side of a cigar with that lighter, and it starts a cigar off on a better foot than anything else I own... But if the wind is stronger than 5-8mph, the flame simply snuffs out. So it's either on/off.

AMGfan, I don't know what you're using to take your pics but they remind me of the JR's catalog pics. Nice detail. Makes the cigars look fantastic. Keep them coming.

Liga Privada UF 13...great offering from Liga...Feral still my favorite but this smallish vitola is verrrry good with tons of smoke.

LOCKED AND LOADED...

Jon a very very solid and yet diverse line up! Liga, Opus, Padron and Monticristo all complement each other very nicely! I need to try those Monticristo's very soon!

I never really had a bad Fuente product in general! A very reliable and consistent cigar brand. I find the Anejo 's only 2X a year. At Christmas and around the start of Spring. I have a couple aging as well. Those Opus X shark and Fuente Shark is a rare gem to find these days!

Agreed on AF being a very reliable brand... I just spoke to my guy at my favorite B&M and he said he would be getting a big Anejo shipment in around Mid-November... limited to 4 sticks per customer until the rush settles a bit... One of the big-wigs for Arturo Fuente lives in the Nashville area, so my local store gets the hookup.

I feel a bit pedestrian posting these after Jon's lineup, BUT I must say, for the money, these were impressive.

I had this Oliva Serie O in my humi for a long time... toasted it last night and was SHOCKED at the burn quality, flavor, and construction. The Serie O typically isn't my favorite Oliva... I normally reach for the V/G lineup... but this torpedo impressed.

Then I had the Anejo #48 at the pool today... simply a delicious smoke. The Cognac flavor was a huge surprise, but was thoroughly enjoyable. (bonus picture of wifey and her blonde lover )

Tonight, I had another PDR Reserva Limitada (the last photo). This is my "cheap" smoke ($2.49 each). And WOW -- it was complex, well-behaved, and delicious. No better bang-per-buck out there.

jon, amazing line up as always!

hope all the smokers had a great weekend. i don't have any pictures of any of the sticks i've had this weekend, but here's my peasant lineup:
JdN Antano (best budget stick imo)
Liga Privada UC (amazing after some rest)
Liga MUWAT Baitfish (such an awesome little smoke with tons of flavorful smoke output)
Davidoff Tubo...no comment. i'll let this stick rest before i say anything about it.
AB 1997 Harvest Selection (awesome natural wrapped budget stick with tons of flavor and a very chewy thick smoke that leaves a oily slick)

kreuz: you should try the Joya de Nicaragua Antano if you're looking for more budget sticks

I've been eyeballing the Baitfish/Papas Fritas as an option for a quick smoke... So you recommend, eh?

I recall seeing a JDN Antano on their shelf, but it was $9 a stick

This is the one you're referring to, right?

http://www.cigarsinternational.com/c...o-dark-corojo/

Seems promising from the reviews.

If that's the one you had in mind, I'll go ahead and buy this sampler tonight:

Oh wow what are those cigars!?! Is that what you get when you smoke Fuente's? The blonde is just beautiful! It would be a Bonus if you can get them to enjoy cigars too! Anyone here have their other half's enjoy a cigar with them? A couple of my ex's enjoyed cigars but my current lady does not care for them.

Hahah!! Yeah the blonde is a sweetheart, that's my wife's best friend (we jokingly call her the "wife's wife"). Shockingly, they both enjoy the occasional stick (although nothing too heavy). In fact, that day they both had a CAO Moontrance in the pool... definitely helps out that they like that one, since it comes in the Cafe Con Leche sampler

Stephanie likes the bolder cigars as well... she wanted to puff my Anejo a few times the other day, so after much arm twisting, I obliged. Then wifey started with the "Steph is puffing your Anejo" jokes

Good sports, those ladies.
