I admire your taste, Jon. Is it me or why do I have a hard time justifying purchasing Padron's and Ashton VSG's for over $15/stick when I can get cubanos much cheaper?!?!

BTW, have you lit up one of those LGC Obeliscos??

JR...I have lit many LGC Obeliscos...fantastic smoke...seems medium to full to me and the draw is nice. The only drawback is that out of the 2 dozen I have smoked 1-2 have had a loose wrap...the others were fine and just a great smoke.

PS Those Padron 1964's...Little Hammer...were worth every penny. The Opus X and the Opus X Lost City are getting aged a bit but the ones I have smoked have been really worth the time and money to smoke...I couldn't beat the price I got them at...

I love the LGC Obeliscos, but I've had the same problem with a few. And the Padron's ARE worth it. I've gone through all the Padron family.
BTW I will be in Tampa on Monday for another tournament. But i have to leave afterwards because it is my birthday that night and the wife wants me home. As soon as I get more free time I will make sure I get us a round on Plantaion Palms.

AMG, between your cars and cigars, you're killing me!!! Dude, you lead the good life! Based on what I've seen here, I ordered a couple of bundles and samplers recently. I haven't had the chance to taste them all, but I'll give big thumbs up to both the Oliveros Sun Grown and Padilla 1948. Super cheap cigars, but both big on flavor and well-made.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Padron Anniversaires and Ashton VSG's. I've still got 3 or 4 Opus X's from my first (and only) trip to Mike's Cigars in Miami back in 1997. I guess I hang out with too many of my brothers friends who smoke nothing but cubanos. I think the current cream of "domestic" brands are every bit as good, if not superior, to anything coming our of Cuba now.

I agree the domestics are on getting or are there already with the Cubanos I've smoked...the Behike though was so smooth and the smell of the Sig II out of the box were fantastic. The Padrons, Padillas, Rocky Patels, and Tatuajes are just as good in construction, complexity, and just overall enjoyment...add a nice single malt and we have a perfect evening.

I just scored a box of Opus X double robustos...I'll send one to you once it comes in...I'd age it for awhile though. It seems all the Opus X I smoke seem to be a better smoke with some age to them.

The box for that La GLoria Obelisco turns into a cool display case. That office humidor is sweet! Reminds me of a wine refrigerator. I gotta get one of those for my office.

I second what redbull said!

AMG, you get to smoke in the office?!?! I need to get hired there! I can't even smoke in the house with the windows open!!!

Speaking of smoke, I am going to order up some of those LGC Obeliscos. Also just picked up a couple of those Joya de Nicaragua Antano dark corojos to give'em a whirl!

Recent reviews: Man O' War Ruination - everything I read about this smoke is true. Great flavor, full and robust, smooth draw, just a superb smoke.

5 Vegas Series 'A' - truly a surprise smoke for me. Haven't smoked a 5 Vegas in years, which tells me they probably weren't good enough for me to try again. But I'm glad I did! If you like robust maduros, you can't go wrong with this stick. Solid medium-to-full bodied flavor with a nice, easy draw.

Graycliff 1666 - another maduro wrapped beauty. One of the first Graycliffs I've ever tried and this one delivered. I'm glad I've got 4 more! Medium-bodied in taste, flavor and smoke. Great morning or afternoon shmoke.

AMG, if I've mentioned anything remotely interesting to you, let me know. I owe you a couple sticks!

JR...luckily the building is mine. I just need to get my AC guy to work on the ventilation in my office...like at my local cigar lounge has theirs. Not sure of cost yet...but I'll limit my cigar enjoyment after business hours and on weekends (I get more work done then anyway )

All the smokes you mention Ive smoked and really enjoy...ESP. The LGC and Antano...you should try the Padilla Signature 1932 and Padilla Miami. I've got tons of them...I'll shoot you a couple.

A couple for my collection...I can't wait to smoke the Signature Maduro...love them. The Opus X Robusto 1992 will sit for about a month or two and then I will smoke the heck out of one...I had one about 3 yrs ago and enjoyed it immensely.

The Casa Fuente Double Robusto is a recommendation from a friend that was in Vegas and visited Casa Fuente.

AMG, no worries, I completely understand and appreciate your generosity!

I love that chick's cigar bandolier! What a great idea! Was she standing on some sort of platform or was she just really tall?
