CL65 AMG '05
Grusell, i still consider your car to be 4x4 for me. No offense. Perhaps the states really have a very tall setting for Mercs.
My car arrive from AMG plant lowered by 15mm from ROW setting. Not US setting. And it look lower then yours. So with Kleeman EPL, i think i can slam the car down like davepl's lol. perhaps not that much.
I am sure you can go lower then what you have now right grusell?
Btw, you have one of the CLEANEST garage i've ever seen in my life. lol! What you do? wash them everday? kudos to your car and garage mate, its nice.
If you want to see my ride height, check out my old thread My CL is finally coming thread in the AMG CL forum.
Cheers mate

James,
When I picked up my car from Evosport (they installed the Kleemann module) it was much lower. To me it didn't look right. In about 5 minutes I adjusted it up to a hight I liked. That is the awesome thing about the Kleemann module, you can set it to your taste. I saw your pictures and I thought you car was just a bit higher, but it is hard to tell. on the CL, I try to even the gap between the tire and the fender all the way around so it looks even. When stock, the gap is much bigger at the top than at the sides. Currently it is 1 1/2" between the tire and the fender, so it is lower by almost 3/4" of an inch. I tried to set the car up for the best performance without changing the ride much, I am very happy with the results.
Yes, I like to keep my garage clean, but the photo doesn't show all of the junk at the other end. I am in the hardware business. BTW, I love your compound!!!!!

egnahc,
Thanks man!
I am not a big fan of tint either, but it gets way too hot out here and it helps a lot. Also, I had the AMG CL65 rims, but they were HEAVY and I didn't care for the offset. I think the HRE's look ok, but the weight savings when coupled with the brakes made a big difference in performance. I am going to do a back shot next week after the new exhaust is installed.

Grussel,
Hot car man....Iam contemplating one for my next ride...with 03's and 04's taking a huge dive in value I may jump in soon. Beautiful wheels and brakes...what size are the wheels, and what exhaust are you getting?
Jason

Garrett I have a few questions for you:
1) where did you get the brakes and how much were they? tire rack?
2) How are you fitting the eisenmann with the factory bumper (single outlet cutouts)?
3) did you get the eisen sport or competition?
4) how does the car ride now compared with the 18's?
I have been looking at the eisenmann but it seems it won't fir right with those tips on an AMG rear bumper. I am very curious as to how it fits and even more on how it sounds.
Car looks great!

AMG2GO,
Thanks!
1) The brakes were supplied and installed by Evosport in Huntington Beach, CA.
2) I ordered the single oval tips, which will (should) fit the original cut out. I will post a pic after it is installed.
3) sport
4) I have had several CL/SL/S's with 18", 19" and 20". I don't like 20's due to the poor ride and potential damage to the lips in the front. However, the 20's look great, they are just not worth the poor ride to me. The difference between 18" and 19" in terms of ride is very minor. I feel that the upgrade to 19" does improve the handling and feel quite a bit. I also have 19" on my S600 and would not change them for another size. It is still very smooth and still looks great.
Thanks!

Please let me know how the exhaust sounds afterwards. I am looking at the same thing, but am concerned about the noise. I like my car quiet. I want it to rumble at full throttle not while cruising. Let me know how it works out. Can you let me know either here or PM what the brakes cost you? Thanks Garrett.

ok here you go
They didn't fit right the first time, then they were remade by eiseman and they did't fit right again. Evosport modified them and after 5 hours of cutting and welding got them to fit. Sounds awesome!
