I don't post much but have to speak up when the subject is the CL...my second favorite car of all time (the 575 Maranello is my #1...love big sexy coupes). I also like the first version but could accept the second iteration with different wheels. The wheels you chose would look better on a luxo sedan imo. Coupes need sportier, open faced wheels. Can't knock it though...only spinners would cause me to put a car down. Modding is about individuality and yours definitely shows. Way to go.

Thank you. That KS SEC is incredible.

LOL..

Seriously though I am pretty surprised to see this many people not like your mods...I am with Ricky on this one it looks different which is cool

The first pic looks like every other black CL out there so I like the fact you came out with something different...

I do agree with the guys on the rims you need a little more open faced rim

Even though I am now selling this car, I needed to see it to completion of a look I've been wanting since I had it. Like I said before, it's all a matter of personal preference. I am not not surprised by many reacting negatively; the car now has such an extreme look. I've been through this before with the Koenig Specials SEC coupe I posted above. It's a love it or hate it look. Also, it makes a tremendous difference seeing it first hand as opposed to photos which don't do it justice. You should see the reaction from the crowds that gather and the compliments I get, especially here in Vegas. The neon lights glimmering off the black body and the deep chrome rims really sets it apart from anything else anyone's ever seen. I also think a lot of people's negative reaction has to do with being stuck in a purist, conservative mindset when it comes to Mercedes. Those days are so over. It isn't the golden old days any more when there was a chance that any Merc from that era needed to stay 100% pure OEM because it's a collector classic. Unless you live in the boonies, where even a C-class would get looks of admiration, you so desparately need to separate yourself from every other person with a little cash that has a Benz, otherwise you're just another ***hole with some bucks. Anyone with that can buy a top of the line Benz. Not everyone has the vision to make it unique and put their own signature look on it, perhaps not to the extreme I have, but at least do something different! Other than perhaps the SLR McClaren, NONE of these production units will ever be a collector classic. Collectability of modern (current) autos now is so hit and miss anyway.

No one even pays attention to the other guys' Ferraris, Bentleys or Lambos when this bad boy is lined up with them in the valet in front of the casinos! As for the rims, I just do not care for open faced, sporty rims unless it's perhaps a Ferrari or Lambo. In fact, I hated those Brabus rims. I just thought it made the car too sporty. I will always prefer the deep dish, heavy chrome center look. It's just my ultra-pimp sled look I guess. Again, just my 2 cents.

good lord, that looks hot! very VIP, I like it a LOT! the only things i would change is painting the mesh grilles black instead of silver, and I can't really tell but it looks like a Brabus badge on the hood... doesn't go with the Lorinser on the trunk...
good job man, came out nice!

I totally agree with you bro..well said. Your ride looks pretty nice. Different from the rest of your "typically" born stock with just rims and tires trade out.

Yeah, I don't think I would do that again, but the car came with that spoiler when I purchased it.
