FINALLY-My 600 unleashed!
Finally I post pics of yet another of my project cars - nothing like my last few rides - is now complete I can safely say, even though no one believes me. At least I can say it's my favorite and best yet of all my "pimp sleds".
LARS K - where are you? I tried, but STILL could not get my suspension as low as yours without rubbing even though I went through utter hell trying (and failing) to do it by first tricking the ABC computer until the folks at 702 Motoring here in Vegas convinced me to take the plunge, spend the $$$ and do it right with a suspension kit. I even took pics of your ride and showed all the so-called experts. No way I could I slam it like yours since my offset is different (9 1/2 x 20, front; 10 X 20, rear with 3" and 4" lip depths on Bazo 3-piece custom rims wrapped with Conti Sports) plus my front Lorinser aftermarket fenders are made of wonderful fiberglass which I just cracked this last weekend accidentally running over something; this after 5 mos. in the bodyshop getting re-painted and another month at the dealer for mechanical work. Lucky me, huh! Amazing I still have the patience for customizing my Benzes since 1987. A true labor of love.
So, here are the before (when I got the car), and after (customizing it to my look) pics. Another love it or hate it look! But that's my extreme custom style, definitely a matter of personal taste:

Some of my wild and ostentatious rides from the past which influenced some of my design ideas on the CL I thought I'd share even though this is strictly a CL forum...

Congrats man, that's a seriously wicked looking ride you got there
I understand that the look might not be to everyone's taste, but looking back at some of your previous rides I have to say I can see a distinct style going on and that's cool.
It looks like no other CL I've seen and that makes it awesome in my book

The lights were sprayed with a type of special paint which still allows the light to show partially, espcially in the white spaces where it wasn't painted.

I have to admit that I was a true fanatic of the MIAMI VICE look in the 80s, obviously an influence in all my Benzes, starting with my first, the SL, in 1987. I guess it never left me, so I am ruined forever! Can't wait to see this summer's $200 million remake. Sonny Crockett drives a Ferrari 430 Spyder which replaces the Daytona/Testarossa.

But then, anything Michael Mann has done has always been top drawer. How much of a sick-*** Vice fanatic I was is evidenced by the wetting down of the pavement outside my former residence (see my photo of my old SL and SEC cabrio) - a signature look used in the night time shots in the series to make everything look slick! It'll be interesting to see if he throws it in the feature. Only a freak like me would know what I'm talking about...
Almost every Benz used in the series was, in fact, AMG'd out to the max! It put AMG on the map and into American households. By the way, I had that SEC cabrio shipped from South Florida back in the late 80s; it was an AMG grey market wide-body with a hydro-electric soft top. What a pain it was to bring it up to US specs. I can only hope that they will finally come out with a factory cabrio version of the new CL. Now that would be the answer to my dreams!

Per the request of one of the above posters, here is better pic of my Koenig Specials SEC, the epitomy of custom insanity as excerpted from a reprint in Eurosport Car magazine, summer 1994...

Duly noted, Kubazzz. Like I said, it is an extreme look that some will love and some will despise, much the same as my Koenig Specials pictured above.
Just curious about people's different tastes and styles, here's a photo of what inspired my design - at least for the front end spoiler; do you feel the same about this???

The car looks better stock if not with a simple AMG sport pkg....this looks HORRIBLE with that front bumper and those UGLY fog lamps...if it had a different front kit...it wouldnt look tooooooo bad

Not looking for trouble, but the steerling wheel is on the passenger side in picture three (of the post quoted) and then the drive side for every other picture. WTF?!
