Question Where is the Cabin Air Filter on a CL???

I started getting that mildew odor in the cabin when running the A/C. My service rep advised me to check the active air filter as it might need cleaning.

Exactly how many cabin filters are there on a CL? Is there a dust filter AND an active air filter or are they both the same filter? Also where can I locate it?

I checked under the hood (right and left sides) and only found fuses and some electronic modules. I appreciate the help and some direction.

I always tend to look at this Russian Parts EPC website first which should help identify the rough location of any parts for any specific vehicle.

There may be some filters that are accessed by removing the under dash trim and opening a small cover/door by the side of the heater case.!?!?

Let me know hoe you get on!!

The cabin filter is located in front of the glove box. All you'll need is basic tools to get the box out. There are some semi-hidden screws but just take your time. Once the box is out look towards the right and you'll see a white lever, if I remember correctly just pull it up and the door opens it's easy. There are two filters in the opening.
I had the oder come in my CLK and the service guys sprayed something in the intake while I had the A/C on full, not sure what it was but you may ask them.

Thanks for the reply. When you say "in front of the glove box", are you referring to inside the cabin or from under the hood on the side of the glove box? If its on the inside, do I access it through the glove box or from the passenger footwell (under the glove box)?

You are welcome, it takes very little time, don't forget to unhook the wires for the glovebox lamp. They also may be left connected if you support the box. It's not hard at all.
