Well, I might be eating my previous negative post on the new body style. Trash all those old spy pics - they just never do the finished look justice!!!
Would you believe I got these off the NEW S-CLASS FORUM of all places?
This thing doesn't look too bad from these angles now that we're getting closer to the "final" rendition:

Well, the side view looks pretty good, but I'm still not feeling that hood or the trunk area lines. Maybe it will grow on me once I see it in person.

I like it. Will that rear window come all the way down? If is does that will be an engineering marvel. HUH? WTF! S600 has same engine as S550 with twin turbos added? No way it is a 5.5 liter V8 with a 600 designation? 510 HP limited to 130 MPH? WTF!

Mercedes-Benz says the new coupe will come in two flavors: the CL550 uses a 5.5-liter V-8 with 382 hp to zip to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, while the CL600 straps twin turbos to the same engine for 510 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. The CL600 drops 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Both versions are limited to 130 mph. The CL550 uses the Benz seven-speed automatic, while the 600 gets a five-speed automatic that can handle its torque. Overall length is just under 200 inches, while the CL rides on a 116.3-inch wheelbase. A raft of electronics is standard, from anti-lock brakes to an electronically controlled suspension. Inside the CLs get aluminum and metallic trim to coordinate with a choice of walnut, ashwood or poplar trim. The new coupes will replace the current CL, which has been on the market since 1999 with 46,800 copies built as of May."
