New wheels for CL600.........
I want to purchase new wheels for my 2004 Cl600, but I don't like the look of many wheels I see on other's CLs. I currently have 18" AMG wheels that came with the AMG sport package and I want something nicer. My car is black and I definitely want 19" in silver or polished rims, not chrome or black. I don't think I want to use 20s.
I don't like the AMG CL55 or CL65 wheels. I want something sporty and classy looking.
Any ideas?

I've seen some CLs with 19s and they are dropped 1 inch all around and boy it looked classy, just dont drop it too much as you'll want the 20s to look better.
I went with 20s to fill up the gap on the fender well and I think it's more appropriate (sp?) but 19s are still OK, in fact I have a set of 19 AMG double spoke "presidential" or whatever that edition is called since are silver center and not anthracite colored on CL65.

The CL is a great looking car from the factory with it's sleek design and aggressive front. Aftermarket wheels only bring out the looks of the car more. Here is a pic of our 03 CL55 with brabus wheels 20" staggered and lowered.

D2:
I was told by Brabus and other wheel vendors that the monoblock III is not made any more...are those old ones in the photo, or some type of aftermarket knock-off?
Also, a couple questions on the HRE 891r's; I am pricing staggered 20's and comparing to get a light-weight wheel to reduce my vehicle's unsprung weight...are the 20's supposed to weigh about 24-26 lbs on those and is it true that the "comp" series which are about 4 lbs lighter are actually cheaper??? (w/o as many wheel styles to chose from of course.
Let me know-
Thanks,
OC kid

OC kid yes its true those wheels aren't being made any more, that car now has another set of wheels but they are chrome so I didn't post them. I do miss seeing those wheels sometimes on that car.
The HRE wheel weights, the comp series only goes up to 19", so 20" wouldn't be an option. Like most 3pc forged 20s, the weight on the HRE's are approx 27lbs. The car holds 20's very well, as long as its lowered.

do you mean staggered tires? the 20" brabus Monoblock III only comes in 9.5" width. I did mine w/ 255/35/20 front and 275/30/20 but both are 20x9.5" correct me if I'm wrong. Those wheels look the sickest IMO on big bodied Benz.

After many searches, I found a few wheels that I think look hot on the CL600: Renntech monolites, Wald (forgot which one), and the Moven wheels that OC kid has on his car.

How's the ECU/TCU upgrade so far?

Hey Adam,
I love the ECU upgrade. The TCU upgrade made a big difference too; shifts so much smoother. My friend has a 2006 M5 and from 50-120, I pulled about 2car lengths ahead.
I'm not sure what rims I want, but I'll definitely go through you if I go Renntech since you get better prices.
