FS: Lorinser Exhaust for your CL-Class (w215)

Hey all, up for sale is a Lorinser Exhaust System that I purchased not long ago. I decided not to put the exhaust on, so I figured I would place it on here to see if anyone wants it. I'll accept best reasonable offer. Just PM me or email me at:

cthoughts1@tmail.com

And we'll take it from there. All the information you need about the exhausts are in the pictures.

Regards,
Eddie

Was this previously used or bought new by you?

Where are you located?

So why not pick it up for a good price and just hold it there until you get the car?..

OK..... GOT it..... and put it on.
First impression... Not impressed.
After 2 or three hrs of cutting my exhaust and pulling out the welder to fit it, I started it up and it almost sounds the same. The exhaust weighed less than the stock, as I compared them, but I did expect a bit louder roar. What I got was a low note hum. I can tell the difference in the sound, however it is still quiet. Not at all like putting Flowmasters on a mustang. However, my CL600 has a pre-exhaust exhaust (not sure if all CL's do???). I have a muffler shop remove these and put straight pipes in their place. The exhaust had no directions, so this may have been a suggestion??? Not sure what I think in the end. The car IS noticably faster and has a little more get-up.... with the K&N filters the exhaust probably adds 20hp.... satisfied with that aspect, but on the fence.... should I go ***** to the wall and remove these pre-exhaust exhaust??? As it sits it sounds similar in Db to stock, but a diff tone... more throaty...

What should I do???

Hey what's up man? Sorry you weren't overly impressed by the sound. Lorinser is known for benz tuning. The sound IMO on the lorinser exhaust is the classiest sound. Its not loud (like a mustang or a civic), its a little more conservative and classy . Personally I wouldn't want my car to sound so loud, you don't want people looking at your car and wondering why its sounding like a mustang or civic no? Personally I wouldn't want people thinking I'm seeking attention with a loud exhaust. Here you have performance, reliability, and class. Just my .02 cents tho. I hope it grows on you, and again IMO I wouldn't straight pipe it. Break the exhaust in, with time it'll growl a bit louder.

The man is right, stay with the Lorinser and let it break in. I have an Eisenmann race setup and it is waaaay to loud. It sounds incredible above 2500rpm's but below that it drones and vibrates the whole cabin. The dual AMG look of it is great but I really don't like how loud it is. If you remove the after cat resonator I think you might be really dissappointed with the sound. Listen to mine in the Eisenmann exhaust pics and sound thread and decide for yourself. These cars don't have the performance to back up the sound.

Lorinser exhausts are very similar to Remus in terms of sound. It's subtle and not too intrusive.

Even with a K&N filter, I don't think any type of aftermarket exhaust is going to give you 20hp gain. You'll be lucky to have a few additional ponies and perhaps even a slight loss in torque.

My Sebring quad tip exhaust seems to sound pretty mean. If anyone has the space to host some video clips for me, I'll take a clip as soon as the weather clears up here in Southern California.

Jon
