275/40 ZR19 on CL500 REAR

I have got the new 63 AMG alloys in 19" Titanium - got 245/40 R19 up Front and 275/40 R19 on Rear. Ive not got the wheels on yet as im waiting for delivery of the tyres (always get better prices for tyres online) and I;m wondering if I'll need spacers on front or back.

Does anyone on here has same tyre sizes on their CL's? Mines a 2000 CL500 BTW - will these wheels fit without spacers?

Thanks in advance for you help

Should fit without any spacers. Good luck, would love to see some pictures when you have them on.

devilsadvocate - the alloys look rather like yours - what do you have on your CL in the picture?

Funny you should say that.. lol. These are the 2007 CL 19" AMG rims.. You are probably considering the same ones.. Let me know if you have any questions.. They're pretty much plug and play..

That makes sense - yes mine are the 2007 AMG CL 19" wheels - look exactly like yours although mine are titanium - so each spoke has a darker inside - one spoke has AMG imprinted on them.

Here are my wheels - im very happy with them - albeit with 2 issues:

Cruise Control wont set over 40mph - flashes speedo and doesnt set - and slight rubbing can be heard from rear wheels - catching on something I guess?!!?

I gonna look at getting 3mm \ 5mm spacers for the rears.

hi mate, if its catching on the wheel arch spacers aren't going to help you it will make it worse. do you know where the problem is?

no its not the wheelarch its the inner tyre wall - I think its rubbing on the air suspension tube?!?! So im thinking 3mm spacer will give the tyre room away from it.

I think it will be ok as I know other CL's are running 9.5J rear alloys.

My main concern is bloody cruise control shutting down - seems to be due to wrong tyre wall size - ive got 275\40 at rear but apparentky I need 275\35 rear. Im just hoping the guys at the dealership maybe able to reprogramme the cluster.

deviilsadvocate - what actual TYRE sizes are you running on your 19" wheels?

Ive got 245\40 R19 front and 275\40 R19 rear - however im getting Cruise Control shut down issues at speeds over 40mph. Im being told bt ppl on here its due to wrong tyre size - so what tyre sizes are you running mate?

Hey Shanusanus, sorry to hear about your problems man.. I'm running the stock 07 CL set up (figured it would be safe) which is 255/40/19 Front 275/40/19 Rear. I have no issues with the cruise control and the car runs fine. Hope this helps and hope everything works out for you.

are your alloys o.e or copy ? its all down to the correct offset for all rubbing issues.

OK so im thinking these now:

Keeping my 245 40 ZR19 Front and putting 255 40 ZR19 Rear.

That way I hopefully reduce the rubbing on the rear wheels. Ive checked the above website and found the following:

Front Tyre:
Diameter : 26.7in
Circumference : 83.9 in
Revs\Mile : 755.0

Rear Tyre:
Diameter : 27.0in
Circumference : 84.9 in
Revs\Mile : 746.0

It seems that there is an inch difference in Circumference - would you think this is tolerable - esp getting the cruise control working?

Im trying to only have to buy 2 new tyres - rather than having to change all 4

Do you think this would be ok now? Would the thinner tyres 255 40 R19 stop the rubbing with teh offset being 35? Man I know didly sqat about wheels etc - I just want nice looking rims - but this whole malarky is costing me me man
