2003 CL600 designo silver for sale..Only 26k miles
Hi everyone,
I have a 2003 CL600 designo silver for sale with only 26k miles. I have an bumper to bumper extended warranty until Nov 2010. Almost everything is covered under my extended warranty company. Uncovered items are mostly wear and tear such as tyres, brakes, etc.
This car has been my daily driver for the past 1.5 years and I am looking to get another car. This car has never been involved in any accident. I have never had any problem with this car. The only problem I can think of was when the self-closing door did not work properly, and it was covered by the extended warranty company.
MSRP (new) from the MBUSA website is around $125,000 plus the designo option which adds another $11,000 or $13,000 to the list price.
The only options I do not have (that I could think of): is keyless go and distronic cruise control. Almost everything else is standard on the 600.
KBB values :
Retail: $57,270 (excellent)
Private: $49,725 (good)
Trade in: $45,135 (good condition)
I am willing to let this car go for $48,000.
Make me a reasonable offer,we can negotiate. I need to sell this car to make space.
Oh, and by the way,I live in Indiana, about 1.5 hours drive from Chicago.
If you need a carfax, VIN, phone number, any questions whatsoever, please email me at dushsquasha@yahoo.com
**I don't know why I can't upload the same picture. But here is the thread from the classifieds with pics on it.

Thank you.

2 things:
first there's not a whole lot of action over here for those wanting to sell cars. i've found that there's a pretty good mercedes fs forum at mercedesshop.com though. might try listing it over there.
second, if you do list it over there, be prepared for the "your car is worth $30k" line. i'm not sure i disagree with them in this instance, but they do like to cut one down to size.

Thank you..I will look at that forum..
regarding the price..I'm flexible. But I've tried to trade it in, they give me more than $30k, it is a fact.

I wouldn't try to trade it, and I definitely
wouldn't try to sell it in Chicago -- some of the cheapest prices I've seen on 600's is in Chicago. There's an '03 CL600 listed in Chicago now with 27k miles for $33k. I'm sure you're already aware, but Cartrader and Craigslist are also good places to list. Good luck. I'd love to have the biturbo, but I bought my02 primarily to see jaws drop when I pull up to Starbucks on Saturday mornings. Sad, so sad.

Unfortunately, there is not much of a market for these cars, especially CL600s without the AMG sport package. I do wish you the best but I also want to be honest with you. Your best bet is to sell on Ebay; maybe you'll get lucky and get more.
My advice: If it doesn't sell on Ebay, then just trade the car in and take whatever they will give you. The dealer who takes your car will also have a tough time selling it with gas prices at $4.50.

Trade in is close to $35k,I tried trading it in few months ago. I'm going to try selling it myself, if I can't find anything higher than the trade in price then it is not worthwhile.
I also tried Carmax and they offered me $32k.
Do 600's have AMG's? Im pretty sure the new CL600 cannot have AMG package added to the car, only 550. I'm not sure about ours.
Thanks for the insight..

If the dealer will give you 35K, you should probably take the deal. It will save you a few thousand in taxes on trade in. You may find someone willing to spend around 40K but you had better have the extended warranty. I took a huge bath when I sold my AMG bodied CL600 with Renntech ECU/TCU.

Yes I have the extended warranty until 2010..It is transferrable.
Regarding trade in tax. If the buyer is local, There is a way to include the dealer in the purchase. So I will get the price I want and also put it to reduce my sales tax..
Asking price is $43k, not $45k

I have bad news for you! Your car is probably worth more than $30k, but you will probably only get about $30k. The CL V12s really get killed in the aftermarket. I own a 2004 CL600 with the AMG Sport Package and every available option; my car was about $140k new. In addition, my car has the 625hp Renntech package including wheels which was another $10k. My car is black/black and in showroom condition. Right now, I doubt it would sell for more than $35k-$38k.
Unfortunately, there is not much of a market for these cars, especially CL600s without the AMG sport package. I do wish you the best but I also want to be honest with you. Your best bet is to sell on Ebay; maybe you'll get lucky and get more.

$28K for 34K mi is the MMR price as of this week...sorry to be the bad guy but those are current manheim prices. and I can get you prices as well for the car you want to buy so you have a better understanding of the bottom dollar to shoot for when you trade in the 600... let me know

Not surprised, Have heard that $29-30k range before on manheim...manheim is for dealers only and I don't think they are allowed to inspect the car thoroughly. Only basic info is given (VIN, etc)
Which is why manheim auction prices are low..they are auctions and buyers (dealers in this case) do take risk with those cars.
Say dealer buy a car for $30k from manheim. They spend approx $2-3k fixing and detailing the car. mark the car up 15-20% and you see them listed around $37-40k.

untrue... when you purchase a car you have the option of running it through the detail shop for 400, where they detail and give a full inspection report on EVERYTHING... you have the option to turn it back and loose the 400 if you are not satisfied. If you attend an auction, there are two or three days before they line the cars up to lot test em yourself. There is also a short time to jump in em while they are being taken through the auction... it all happens very fast but it is well worth it. I had planned to purchase my car through a friend for the closing fees 300 plus 500 on top, but I got the mmr price. That one is gone now, but I think I'll grab one from there unless there is a good deal to be had from one of you guys... the problem with the auction is waiting till the right one comes along.

If you have a dealer friend..go for it...you will not find private sellers, let alone dealers that can compete with auction prices. Manheim prices are even below trade in prices so I don't think you will find many private sellers that are willing to sell theirs for that amount of money.
Please let us know how you are doing there as I am sure many of us are interested.
Good luck..

Yep... been searching manheim online and not many have gone through dallas... I would take the dealer trade and offset the tax at the last minute if the car doesn't sell.... but lock the dealer in at that price in case the prices drop
