2006 CL500
Sirius Satellite

I just tried to activate my Sirius account in my "06 CL500, but the car doesn't seem to be Sirius ready. I was thinking Sirius came preinstalled and you simply had to activate your account. If I add a Sirius antenna and converter, will the Command act as the user interface?

The dealer would have to install the components. I think it's around $1,000 to get it installed after the fact.

“Fiber-optic network offers precise, high-speed communication among components and includes factory preparation for CD changer1 and cellular phone,1 and SIRIUS Satellite Radio2 pre-wiring.”

Try this:
Press hard key “SAT”, Press soft key “Service” to find your Electronic Serial Number (ESN) Call 1-888-539-7474 and provide SIRIUS Customer Care with ESN & VIN.

2004 CL500
You need to add an antenna (and paint it) and some sort of box in the trunk and wiring. I was quoted $1,675. My COMMAND was "satellite ready" but didn't have the parts to link it to outer space.

Something on 4 wheels..
Interesting...

I might be in the market for a pre-owned MY2005/6 CL65 so SIRIUS and the phone-system (Bluetooth) are pre-wired, right? Would be gret to know so the list of options I would have to look for on the pre-owned cars would be shorter...

Thanks!

Mercedes-Benz
022 is the VPC installed sirius code for that year
050 or 051 is the phone option.

Thanks for that info!

However, I was curious if a dealership could RETRO-FIT these two options (or in other words, if the 2005/2006 CL65 was pre-wired) if they were NOT factory or VPC-installed...
