Could this be why whenever I go over a bump the car feels like it takes a sec to grip the road again? I have had this problem for last year and shocks and ABC seem to be fine.

Alex,
You gotta be more descriptive with your symptoms. Do you have an ABC error? Is there fluid leaking? How's the ride height?

Also, why repeat the same question 3 times?

YES. The failure of ABC is a dangerous safety issue, which many (all?) of us have experienced.

We need to put pressue from multiple people to get Mercedes to either warranty the ENTIRE ABC system (not just some pumps and hoses for certain years and VINs), or provide a solution to eliminate the ABC entirely and use traditional struts with nonadjustable springs that will last for decades.

I am willing to join any group effort. Please follow up!

I've had no problems and I probably put more stress on my struts than most people.

I've been cursed with an unreliable car! My ABC pump failed last september @ around 34000 miles and cost me north of 3000 euros to get fixed and unfortunately thats only one of many problems! Beautiful car though!

I don't see where people are having these problems with the 2007 and newer CL550's. Looks like MB refined the system

Most people with no issues post comments. Believe me not all of us have issues with the ABC. Just make sure you have a warranty.

The gripping thing? hmmm is like when you have low profile tires and the back shimmies a little? Not sure what you mean by gripping

I would never want to own a MB flagship vehicle without a warranty.

Not enough time for the hydraulic hoses to degrade. Mercedes could solve the catastrophic ABC failures by using an electronic clutch on the pump. When the system senses a pressure drop, the clutch could disengage and the pump could be saved. As is, when a hose blows, the pump keeps spinning and is grenaded due to lack of lubrication.

Read the site I posted. It states that MB changed the hose system it did not go into the pump but it might of changed the pump?

The article said:

Mercedes-Benz has enhanced Active Body Control for the new CL-Class and made it even better. Each component has been reworked. The specialists have now arranged various components into groups, in order to improve the control functions with shorter connecting lines and reduce the installation space required.

Did it change the hose system or did it just shorten them but continue to use the existing type of hoses that degrade with age and heat?
