6 Month Vacation

I might have to let the car sit for about 6 - 12 months. What should I do? Disconnect the battery so it doesn't drain? But if I do that then will I need some code for the radio? Is there anything else I need to do? Why does the battery get drained if the car sits for a while?

I can't afford
put a battery charger on it (trickle charger)
Raise the air suspension
inflate the tires to maximum on tire wall
fresh oil in there for storage as oil gets acidic after a year

It'd be good to add some fuel stabilizer to the gas tank.

Battery charger, fresh oil, fuel stabilizer and inflate tires so they don't get lumpy on one side from sitting so long.

To make sure I have this correct, hookup the battery charger to the batter that is hooked up to the car and then lock the car? Or remove the battery and then hook up the car to it?

1st one. The trickle charger is made to charge the battery while it's still in use. No need to remove the battery. I did the same on my motorcycle every winter and fire it up in the spring for the first time with no issues. Just make sure you get a decent charger. You don't want any overloads or shorts that'll mess up all your expensive benz electronics.
