2001 CL600 AMG BADGED
1) Does the CL600 AMG version have the ABC suspension?
2) How do I determine if it is truely an AMG version? I have not opened the hood as of yet, and was wondering if there was away to tell by looking. It does have the side skirts AMG style. It also has the V-12 insignia on the sides.
3) If it is not a CL500 clone, is it something to bother with or is it a year with problems?
Any other info would be appreciated.
I do think it might be a 600 since there is a BMW 850I there also.

600's do have the ABC suspension. do you self a favor, if you really want a CL600, get the 2003+ model year cars, in 2003 they added twin turbos to the v-12's boosting their output like 150HP and 200+ torque.
When I go and look at a car I like to know as much as possible before the approach.
In regards to this car,I was and still am not convinced that this is even a 600.
It might just be a CL500. It does have a wood wheel which I know could have been an add on as well as the AMG ground effects, AMG badge and v-12 badges.
So is it the just the year that is problematic regardless if it is a CL500 or
CL600?

600 cars are not AMG cars. This car may have had the AMG Sport Package, which is a trim option.
I am going to try to get there in the next day or 2. They have an 850I there so maybe I'll start by looking at that and than swager on over to the MB.

Just Wikipedia it and you can see the history, There was at one time a CL63 AMG that was never forsale to the public and were available only in Asia and Europe. Now there is a CL65 but never a CL600 AMG. They may have put after market AMG exhaust and bought a badge off eBay. That doesnt make it real though. Pop the hood and take a photo of the engine compartment. That is a big give away. The AMG V12 looks totally different.
Go to the VIN decoder below and it will recognize VINs of vehicles manufactured after 1980 and give you every detail about the car. Its a russian website but it is in english.

That CL600 I saw in person. The dealer tends to put AMG badges on anything that has an AMG kit on it. (aka sport package) So we don't know if it is a 600 or not. He wouldn't pop the hood that day
