CL63 or CL65 rims on CL55
Hey all...just pick up a 05 CL55 white with 30K miles. Always had BMW's...love the difference between this CL55 and my M5.
As always, looking to put larger rims on CL55...18's on it now...will use them for snows. Does anyone have or know where I am see the stock CL63 wheels on a CL55? I love the rims, just don't know how they will look.

M5 is a fighter jet. CL55 is the Concord. When you press pedal down in M5, feels like the earth is going to explode. CL55 does not feel as fast, but probably is. CL55 much better for highway driving...it is softer. CL55 feels heavier, but not sure it is. Tranny in M5 is junk, WAY to long between shifts, unless is track mode. Tranny in CL55 better. Hope that helps...let me know if you have specific questions.

CL55 will actually support wider rims than the 65, so if you like wider wheel (see my pics in signature link) you are in luck. I would not go past 20" though, unless you don't use the car as a daily driver. CLs ARE heavy and nasty potholes will dent rims. I have had my 20s get minor dents I think three times (each time fixed for ~$140). As far as the CL63 wheels on a CL55, I have not seen anyone do that.

Will I have to worry about tire pressure sensors on the CL55? Are they in the brakes or the wheels? Want to keep AMG 18" for winter so need senors there are well. What tire size did you use?

Thanks, I have tried to not go overboard with the modifications. I have seen a few CLs that are beginning to have more in common with bodykit lambo-door Honda Civics than anything MB ever intended.
On mine tire sizes are 255/30 F and 305/25 R and that may be the limit for the 215 CL. My car is lowered about 1.5 inches so every so often on the freeway it will rub - raising the car with the button on the dash just about eliminates it except for the worst of undulations.
Tire pressure sensors: Yes you must deal with them. They are inside the tires and kind of along the sidewall of the tire. With my 25 series sidewall the sensors would NOT FIT, so we strapped them around the rim. Been working great for 18 months this way. The sensors are not cheap, so you may want to simply swap them when you swap wheels for winter. BTW your car might be getting to an age where the batteries go on those sensors - mine was a very late '04 built just before they switched to '05, and the batteries dried up last year.
