Correct sir, door edging might look ok from 50 feet away...but I don't think that it would have the look any of us are going for any closer than that. I still think that using another aftermarket grille (like a wide billet grille for a pickup) as material would work; but anything will require custom work. That's ok with me, though, as I would prefer a high quality unique look. As I said earlier I have quite a bit of quality metal on hand and a mill...my route will/would be specific to the application.

I think we're agreed quality is the watchword here. My plan, pace the example of the Rocket, is to try a satin charcoal finish first. Then I can either go body and/or bling strips, dependening on how that looks.

I asked them to save the standard grille for me after some remedial cosmetic work. Still haven't figured out what to do with it. Nothing as ghastly as this, that's for sure!
Shudder!

If I could find an extra I'd start working on it. I may just wing it and make my own.

Yea, I seen that in Person when working on Omars car when I was lowering it for him. It looked ok but really empty. In the rear view thou, I thought it was the new SL65 BS lol

Looks empty and ill-fitting. I can't work out why they call it an AMG grille when it's obviously an attempt to recreate the grille from the gullwing, as seen on the new SL.

Looks as bling as those wheels.

Why did the rear view look different?

Maybe it was just because it was a Glance. Looking in the RV gave me a different impression thou, more appealing. But than again, we don't buy things to look good in other's rear views lol. The owner is a very cool cat, very nice guys and just has his own taste.

Yes the guy has his own taste, just on the tasteful side of bling and I applaud him for that.

The lowering looks nice. Too often CLs are lowered too much but that looks just right. Care to share your technique?

Links? More detail please. The white CL looks too low, the silver one looks just right. I want to know how to achieve the former please.

That's just my parking stance, I raise it when I drive to a better level. I modified CL600 links to work on the front and the rears are just adjustable

MP Deign and Teknik just emailed me to say my starless grille has been shipped. Checked the UPS tracking and it should be here soon. Will post a picture when it arrives.

It arrived today. Injection moulded plastic, fairly hefty, more solid than the OEM part. Surprisingly, as the picture on the site shows it as light grey, it is already matte black. I'll fit it as it is and see how it looks. More pictures later.

Five minutes to fit. First impressions are that FormulaZR is right, it needs those chrome strips. Although the Q-Car look is growing on me...

It looks very good...I'm on the fence about the chrome strips, I think it might look "classier" with them, but it looks sinister and sportier without.
