Pretty much what the title says...but is there any aftermarket grill available for this car? Besides not needing 2 MB emblems within 6 inches of each other...I REALLY don't need the big on on the grill!!!!

None that I know of.

And I certainly hope I don't see any....why do you US drivers think you have better taste then Mercedes-Benz?
IMHO German cars should be modified very slightly as they look stupid otherwise...."no star grill"....not!
Colin.

Thanks so much for your opinion...It's not a matter of better taste; I just don't feel the need have the car branded everywhere. Subtlety is the mark of class...not extravagance. Either way, to each their own!

i see your point, and i do agree that the star grill looks gr8, but our american cousins are entitled to there opinion. hell there are guys in the uk that put viper stripes on robin reliants. (our equivelent of rednecks). i can see why he wants that grill(i wouldnt), and from a certain point of view with a good body kit, it could look gr8. good luck to all.

Ok......... if you don't want the car to look like a Merc, why don't you try a Kia instead?

Well, the W221 has a starless grille, so does that make it less of a Mercedes? Looking like an MB and having the star all over it are two completely different things.

rfactor is a pc racing simulation game, very realistic, a wheel is a must have, and i think a formula zr was one of the original non licensend cars. hence the comment.

Well, the W221 has a starless grille, so does that make it less of a Mercedes?

So you are going to remove the star grille, put on a no star grille and then put a bonnet star on your CL, same as the w221 model?
What a great look that will be grandad, well done.
MB designers must be tracking this thread, you must obviously be a designer yourself?

There is already an MB emblem on the hood...so, I guess you lost me. And yes, ideally I'd put a no star grille on the car.

Oh, that's cool...I hadn't ever heard of the game. FormulaZR is a reference to my Formula Firebird and my initials...not so clever.

Yes!
Actually, I have seen it on this website: www.performanceproducts4benz.com

However, it does look a bit strange because there is nothing in the middle. Unless, if you have the S-Class or E-Class with their distinctive grilles.

Just type in "grille" on their search engine. I think there's a few on the third page.

Thanks...I went there and didn't have any luck finding it, but I'll keep looking!

Mattig never made that grille. Like you I think this is a slight modification that adds subtlety to a marvellous car and is very similar to the Brabus Rocket. I have just ordered one from these guys. http://www.dynamicperformance.de/215/products_215.htm

I'm currently deliberating whether to paint it charcoal grey or body coloured.

Thanks for the link! That's what I'm looking for! I wonder if they ship to the US?

I contacted them and they first put me in touch with their UK stockist, who obviously didn't want to know. I contacted them again and they sent me a proforma invoice with shipping to the UK included. It arrives next week.

I sent them an e-mail...so we'll see what happens. Mind if I ask how much it was?

Mon plaisir. What colour is yours and what colour do you intend to do the grille in?

The car is metallic black; and I would like the grille the same color.
