Console Wiring '02 CL500

I just repaired my shifter with the stuck in park issue. In reinstalling the console I have 4 wires that I can't find a home for. One from the dash is orange with 2 small lights on it. It doesn't appear that it would plug in but I just don't recall and didn't do the best of job in marking it and these others. Another is from the ashtray area coming out of the console. This one is apparently a light hook up but I'm not sure. The last 2 are wrapped together coming from the dash. Any help would be appreciated. Here are pics. Disregard the 2 wrapped together...I found their home. 2 to go!

Thanks for the info. The first 2 are solved...thanx for your help. In placing the last one, I had to remove another which was in its place. This is the last one and I've attached pics of it. It is blue. Do you know where this one goes? Thanx again.

BTW, how do you know these wires so well? Another question I have is should the main wood console cover be removed when uninstalling/installing the console? I know the small shifter wood cover must come off.

I got a MB tech to help me with this one and it's an unused wire on my car. It has something to do with a light for a compartment which my car doesn't have. Anyway, I'm all back together and everything is working fine. And, most importantly, my stuck in park issue is resolved. Saved myself about $1100 with a few hours of work.

Impressive. Congrats.
What exactly did you do to the shifter to repair the problem?

Thanks.

There is a plastic part in the shifter (selector) which brakes causing the tranny to stick in park. A common problem on these cars. You have to take the shifter apart to remove it. Here's a post on how to do it on a S model which is close enough to get you thru the job. Thanks for your help on the wiring.
