ABC problem on 02 cl500 pllllllllzzzzzz help :)
It's okay here, too. I have no idea why there was a problem. It's derivative and actual usage are very politically correct and family safe. There are ways to use it inappropriately, as with a lot of common words, but that wasn't one of them.
i am thinking about buying an 02 CL500 and the ABC is RED the guy that i am buying it from says that he can fix it for a grand. Do you think that it will cost more or less to fix. Because it tends to lower itself when in park but when i start it levels itself out.. and the ABC alert goes away. But when i stop like at a traffic light the right driver side tends to lower and when i step on the gas it rises back up. Any ideas on what needs to be fix. I could use the help thanks
I would definitely not take his word for it. Why should you buy a car and immediately have to pay him to have it fixed? I'd get a second opinion or have him fix it first before talking price. You don't want to buy it on his word and find out there's a lot more to it than he says.
There are multiple problems - the pump isn't making enough pressure at idle to keep it up , plus there's an internal pressure leak causing the car to lower , Could be the valve body or strut
At least $3000 to fix at a shop, possibly could be fixed for $1000 by him . But with no guarantee I would run unless the car is so cheap you can't resist

i have a buddy of mine with a 02 cl500 all 4s are on the grown. when started the car will not raise up no front or back stays on the ground. any advise? I was thinking the pump. where is the pump located on this car? I was told that the ABC pump and power steering pump are one of the same
ABC
i have a 02 cl500 and i am having this problem when i leave the car for a while (4 hours or more approximately) i find it leaning from the right (front and rear but especially from rear) and when i put it to drive i feel the car being lifted by it self without using the lifting button..... i changed the sensor and the valve and i checked the fluid but same problem.... i heard that the pump may need to be replaced, but am really confused about paying big amount on a new pump
cuz i till now payed enough
so plllllz any advice from someone had the same problem
and plllz be serious cuz if it's too much expensive am thinking of selling the car
though i really like it but i can't afford fixing it.....
Thanks in advance

use the SEARCH first
where are you located ?
shoot me a email
Im doing my own ABC work. Starting in the rear. All the accumulators are done, one valve block rebuilt, rear shocks done. All hoses from back to the middle of the car done.
It is a LOT of work and the parts are expensive. I can easily see $10k for everything.
If someone asked me to do it for them, and they wanted to know how much it would be, the question would be, how much you got?

People forget these were what, $100k+ cars in the early 2000's? Maintenance costs don't depreciate with the value of the car, lol. I think my cl65 was 188k new, and my cl55 was $120k new.
You can replace the soft sections of the ABC lines with 10mm compression fittings on new hydraulic soft lines (done on 2 hoses of my CL65, you can order them pre-made online). A lot cheaper, but I have discovered getting correct measurements can be a pain if you're going in blind.... ended up just making the too-long replacement lines fit in one way or another.
As for cost? No clue, probably more than I'd consider.
