How to know if my Mercedes CL500 is not a RENNtech CL60
I recently picked up a Mercedes CL500 with the full RENNtech package, and I had it taken to the dealer today and a tech came out asking about my car being a CL60. The car has every performance part for sale from RENNtech and was tuned in Florida at RENNtech's facility. I spoke with RENNtech today after talking to the tech and I have them looking into my VIN for further assistance to this. The car was debadged, and I did not know anything about there ever being a CL60 to be honest until today. I wonder if it is a CL60, as to my knowledge there were only 40 produced by RENNtech. And to those of you also unfamiliar a CL60 from RENNtech is a CL500 with the engine bored out to 5.8 Liters. Which would be really great if it is truly a CL60. I will keep you all posted on this once I hearback from RENNtech, I spoke to Thomas there and he used to work at the dealership from which my vehicle was originally purchased new from, he is just unable to find my specific car as I don't know the name of the person who had the modifications installed. Any help or knowledge on this would be great, I am new to CL's and know some of you have vast amounts of knowledge in these matters. Thanks again guys!

I have called the original dealer in Florida, Mercedes of Ft. Pierce. but they were not able to find anything on it for some reason. The car sounds a like a beast, and It is in the shop still but I will take a video and post it up. I am still going to try to find everything out on it. I hope it won't be too difficult.

Still waiting for it from the shop. Very excited to test it out and report back. I'm still doing some research into this on the side as well. I need to find out lol.

I will have it tomorrow. I pulled the Carfax which according to RENNtech might better assist them with figuring all this out. They are going to call me on Friday to see if they can have their records manager locate the original paperwork on their system which according to the goes back to 1997. I'll keep you all updated. And yeah if it is a CL60 I think it would be awesome!

I can clearly see the RENNtech Carbon Fiber Intake system, and RENNtech Headers, and I've been under the car it it's RENNtech all the way back to the Exhuast, and it has the RENNtech 8 Piston Brembo Big Brake kit front & rear, RENNtech ECU, RENNtech Lowering Module, and finally 19" RENNtech Monolites. And with all this added up it still doesn't come close the the original invoice the previous owner showed me many years ago from when he bought it. And now as the owner and doing after research I'm curious as to why these figures don't add up. My only explanation is that it might be a CL60. I guess only time will tell...
And on a second note, for those of you who told me to just drive it and see if I am able to tell the difference, I want you to know I have taken the car 166MPH with 4 passengers and a trunk full of luggage at 6,000 ft altitude. It will definitely smoke a stock CL500. Yet, I'm unaware if it's these modifications I can visually perform, or something much more like boring of the cylinders to 5.8 Liters. Video of the run I am speaking of, notice someone is still sleeping! hahaha
