well, not quite true.
the 6.9 is a remarkable vehicle. but also very scary. not enough brakes.
it was a great car for 1979, but i found that my 1986 560sel[a 126 car] was a much better sedan. better balanced. better brakes.
as the french say, "chacun a son gout".
i have no affection for any hondas after my 1985 crx. an exhilarating drive with no horsepower or torque, but a great gearbox. a funster.
i like benz coupes. i own a few. but the 215's that i own have become my daily drivers. and the best looking of all the benz coupes since ww2, in my opinion.
and as far as my back is concerned, my 2008 porsche cayenne turbo has the most congenial seats.

My ABC pump finally gave in on me, i have been getting the ABC 'visit workshop' notice since i bought the car over a year ago but other than the car dropping after sitting overnight and having to top off the fluid every few months it hasn't been an issue but a few weeks ago it finally gave out
So i ordered a rebuilt replacement which ended up being defective then i was sent ANOTHER replacement which i just found out yesterday was also no good
I finally just got fed up and payed to get a new pump which should be installed and ready to go on Monday
The total cost ended up being around $1,430 ($850 for the new pump and $580 for labor, flush, fluid, filter and rodeo)
I had to spend a bit more since i had to pay for labor twice due the part being defective but all in all not as much as i have heard other people in the forums having to spend
In total i have been without my car for almost a month and a half and i can tell you i am having withdraws!
As soon as i get her back i am taking her to have the resonators replaced with straight pipes at renntech and having the supercharger pulley bearing replaced as well with other mods to follow early next year

I recommend partsgeek.com, they have the new oem pump for around $900
The labor if I remember correctly was around $450, retail on the part from the dealer is about $1,700, hope this helps

Thanks for all the information posted here on the forum for the CL500 with W215 chasis. It was vital in taking the car to a benz shop here in texas to diagnose the ABC warning light fault to be a bad Tandem Pump. Anyone know where else the ABC pump, hoses, blocks can be replaced besides a Mercedes Benz dealeship. My 3 year warranty went out in March and the ABC pump failed in June

Do not drive the car!
Normally the fluid is dark green
Red ABC warning is usually caused by low pressure in system, this can be caused by a fluid leak, bad pump, bad valve block or ruptured accumulator. Get it to a GOOD mechanic or dealer on a flat bed truck, do not risk damaging the pump, the pump is very expensive
