License Plate Bulb

I'm have been getting the message to check my left license plate bulb. In the past it has always been lit but now it is definitely not. I'm unable to find the correct replacement bulb per MB. Can someone advise me about a standard replacement?

Bulbs 6418. The LED bulbs are around $20/pair for these. BTW, your contacts might have been corroded.

Thanks! Must you use the LED bulb? The regular 6418 is about 1/2 the price.

No it's not a MUST. I just thought the LED would give your car more "modern".

Note: mercedes is trying to sell the whole thing (bulbs, covers, etc) so if you are changing the bulbs, be carefull as you pry the old ones out. don't break the bulbs or the tabs (that hold the bulbs).

on my 2005 cl65. i installed these led bulbs i got from a store but it looked bad it was blue even tho it said white on the packaging, so i took them off becuase it made the car look cheap.. so my question is you mention the led bulbs are 20 dollars for the pair, im wondering if you have a better source for the led bulbs that are good quality and looks like the modern car led white bulbs.

I just checked Rock Auto (don't know why I didn't do it initially) and they have the OEM bulb, C5W, for $1.77 a pair plus an outrageous shipping charge of $1.07 (First Class Mail) to Florida. Hell of a deal...
