After Market Radio W215

I have a 2005 Cl500 after having the amp blow for a second time I have decided to upgrade. I've already purchased a mounting bracket and a Kenwoood DDX771 my questions are... Can I maintain the stock speakers with a 2 Ohm amp (what I've been told) or would it be best to install new speakers? Also I was told I would need a new sub and separate amp to power it is this true? I will be bringing my car into a local car audio shop to get a quote he was the one that repaired it about a year ago so I'm hoping I can get a good deal. I would just like to know some more about this before talking to him. Thanks in advance.

I can't help with any information, but I am curious to see what everybody says. I can't seem to find any info on the stock bose system. Where are all the speakers, where's the amp, what's a good setup to install, etc.

I have been having trouble learning about the stock system as well cant even find out the wattage of the speakers. What I do know is that all of the speakers are located on the doors; a tweeter near your side view mirrors and a low and mid I believe on the bottom of the door panels one towards the front and one to the back there is a sub located behind the rear seats under a cover but access to this is through the trunk after removing the trunk pannels and carpeting. The amp along with cd changer, gps, and other modules linked through the fiber optic system are in the trunk on the left side. if you remove the paneling everything can easily be seen. As for a good setup I'm not really sure I guess ill be finding that out soon.

I upgraded my 06 CL500. New head unit (pioneer),2 new Amps, Nav, Sirrus, and backup cam. Used all the existing speakers. Also had an I-phone jack install in the Center Console.

Would happen to know the amps used and the ohms and wattage's of each?

and give us the specs on the amps. Just curious, why did you reuse the speakers instead of upgrading them?

Try Al and Ed's Audio in Lynwood, CA. The do upgrades on the CL's and could answer your questions.
