Bluetooth puzzle, please help
just bought a 2006 cl500 which doesnt seem to have a cradle in the armrest. I called 3 dealers 2 never replied to my voice messages at all in 2 weeks and third told me bluntly that i could only use an aftermarket adapter... im puzzled.
ive read on different forums about mb oem pucks and adapter harnesses but it seems that they are related to particular year cars only, theres 1 post with a write up for a 2004 year cl.
please help, tell me what i need to buy, i will install myself.
Ps dont bash me, i looked in archives and couldnt find the info for 2006.

I'm not even sure some of these parts are available any longer. I know the bluetooth pucks are no longer available to order for some years (2003).

Some modules, cradle, cradle connection kit or bluetooth cradle replacement kit, cabling, brackets, etc. I would venture to guess about $2,000 worth of parts or more if you can even still order them.
You may be able to find them in the second hand market. You would also need to have them coded into your system, MFD, etc.

Back to the start then.
The Telephone buttons on your steering wheel and TEL button on your COMAND is standard regardless if you have the phone package or not.
Looks like you'll need to install and code all the missing parts.

then i called a local dealer in brooklyn and a nice gentleman by the name Ken who seemed very knowledgeable said i would need to install the whole phone system as well, and added that some of the parts are not available since 2008 and are close to impossible to get. He also mentioned that even if i did get all those parts and had them installed i would need to get the particular phone unit it was made for and that i might be getting error codes with modern phones. He also suggested to look at aftermarket options by Parrot.
hard to believe mb didnt make a retrofit unit to accomodate previous models...

1. Need full system.
2. Parts not available.
Using the puck however, most phones will work that conform to the Bluetooth standard. However since the pucks have been phased out as well, they aren't update for new phones either so it may be a hit and miss.
I would agree. Look into a aftermarket system.
It clips to your visor , connects via Bluetooth.
It also uses an fm frequency to play both your phone calls and Music from
Your phone through the car fm radio
