01 CL600 or 03 CL55

01 CL600 or 03 CL55
Greetings everyone,
I am also fairly new to the forum and getting ready to pull the trigger on getting a CL. However I am having a difficult time deciding which is the better choice. I have found a 01 CL600 with only 38k miles for 12k in near showroom condition. And I also found an 03 CL55 with 90k miles for 15k. Should i jump on the CL600 with low miles or the CL55?
Please inform, I want to make the best choice and everyone here is so knowledgeable.

Go with the CL55, never touch a pre 2003 600, the engine will probably develop the dreaded oil cooler leak which needs a complete engine tear down to get fixed.

If you do get a 600, go with a 2003+ models. Keep in mind the maintenance on these is silly expensive. You are buying a $100k+ car for around $10k to $15k. Unless you ditch the ABC suspension, expect to spend up a bunch on maintenance costs. Always buy the newest and nicest example you can afford. It will pay off over the long haul.
