That's a warning sign of upcoming failure. You need to repair or replace the hose, or it will let you down.

With my CL, I had wetness on a couple hoses. Funny thing was, when I wiped off some of it with a napkin and it was orange. Turns out, some of it was transmission fluid, some of it was coolant. If it is green, get a new hose on there as soon as possible. Nick is dead on, a failed hose will leave you stranded and always sooner and more suddenly than you expect.

i shall get under the car tomorrow and confirm the hose or hoses plus stop using the car till it's fixed

Well I went leak hunting this morning and found them....

Plus the sump pan has a weep , sump plug washer need replacement also plus the small rad in front right wheel arch has a little weep on the bottom hose.
