Need a lower Stance after conversion

I did the strutmaster conversion and also put in a non ABC pump from a S500. The ride and steering is pretty good, but the stance is much higher after the conversion. Has anyone lowered their car after the conversion? I was thinking about cutting the springs but that might affect the spring rate. I have been searching every where for the right lowering springs but no one has any recommendations. I was also considering a universal coil sleeve. Does anyone have any ideas?

The strutmasters coils, even at full length , will bottom
Out on large dips -

so you don't want to cut the coils otherwise you'll be rubbing all the time

You actually don't notice the ride difference over speed bumps, dips, even at 100mph. only time you see the difference is when you come off the highway faster than you should and you get some roll.

very nice in white
this is why I would recommend adjustable, strutmaster is probably good but NOT adjustable...

My car sat like this when I bought it after the conversion was done. I cut 2 coils off the rear and it was a bit much on my 20's and was hitting hard over bumps had to raise it up bc the front was now high and the back was low so my mechanic and I used so cheap eBay coil over crappie he had and put in the back to raise it.. so what I'd do is start with only one coil cut in the back and then install and go from there. My front has not been cut or anything at all since the conversion and I'll show you what mine looks like tomorrow. Yea there's no help when it comes to this anywhere. I'm going to eventually get coilovers later.

This is exactly what my car used to look like the day we cut 2 coils off in the back only.. car rides way better btw but as you can see was high in the front now. I'll show you a pic tomorrow of how it is now with it raised up in the back a little now it's level...These are 19" rims btw. Trust me cut 1 full coil in the rear only and your car should be almost even if not.

I'm confused, do you have coilovers or not? You said the conversion had been done, but later said you would get coilovers.

So this is how my car sits today after being raised in the rear about 1 coil says my Mechanic. So again only cut 1 coil off your rear strutmaster kit and your car should look just like this. Painted my wheels btw took that Dupont peel coat crap off.

Yes technically the coil is "over" the shock but not adjustable . Most people think of coilovers as adjustable

the stance looked great with two coils cut but rubbing won't work . I've heard that even one coil cut will result in some rubbing over large dips in the road , please let us know how it is

one coil off the rear looks good and normal. I was thinking about getting the yellow speeds just for the adjustability but that's another Grand. I might just buy a 70$ dremmel and go to work. Thanks for those pics

I have the Stock 18s, you think I would be able to get a way with the two coils? I want to cut the front too maybe one inch. Awilson did you get any bounceyness from the cut?

Are you getting strutnaster kit or yellow speed kit ?

yellow speed is adjustable for height so you don't need to cut anything

don't cut more than one coil from a strutmasters kit

I currently have the strutmasters in now. But it sits too high. I'll do it the right way and cut one coil at a time even though its more work. If this project goes bad ill just buy the adjustable yellow speed coilovers. Hopefully it works out and I could spend the money on some 07 550 wheels instead.. ANy suggesstions on some good coil compressors?

Yea just do 1 coil...my ride is exactly the same as it was before no bouncing around at all. I'm going to go yellowspeed as well bc on of my rear struts is going out and it's almost impossible to get another one from strutmaster and I just don't want to deal with it.

yellowspeed is the ONLY correct solution guys
of course if you are in the US you'll have to add import taxes, but, after all, that's the price to pay after the US provoked the crises in 2008

This is what it looks like now with one coil cut (the after is on the bottom). I feel like I want to cut another one to get a lower stance. I'm gonna cut the front one also.

What size tires are you have front and back ?

the front should be 245/45/18 and the rear 275/40/18 if you have staggered tires
or if you run the same size on all four corners use 265/40/18
