02 CL500 Spark Plug's Recommendation

Has anyone used the Bosch 4501 (FGR8DQI) Fusion Iridium Platinum spark plugs for your CL500's? Some websites stated these plugs are compatible but others stated not so would like to get your opinion on it. If not, what do you recommend? Thanks in advance.

What were the reasons given on the other websites?

Can you provide links for them?

I would find the spark plug manufacturer's data sheets for each of the plugs in question, and compare the specs with those for the plugs that are recommended in the owner's manual.

Unfortunately you can't always depend on information you read on reseller's websites or catalogues.

Sorry I can't do the work for you, but I know the right approach to follow.

You need to satisfy yourself that the specs are right based on verifiable information.

Nick

No reasons. Some websites when selected the compatibility from the pull down menu, it showed it doesn't fit but other showed it does. Just asking if anyone had used those plugs that's all. I'll check w/ Bosch. Thanks.

Unfortunately some of the Bosch information has been wrong as well.

I finally called Bosch & talked to a technical person. He said the 4501 (FGR8DQI) is the correct application for my 02 CL500. I've noticed Bosch has discontinued lots of their plugs & the replacements are superseded w/ new part #'s as of 2015. The 4501 is one of them & it's replaced by the 9651 (FR8LII33X). I popped the question as to why & whether the discontinue of so many plugs was due to performance issue but he said no & stated it's strictly due to business decision (not selling well so they discontinued making them). Since I've already bought a complete set of 16 awhile back, I'll give them a try.
