Exclamation Custom springs for yellowspeed conversion

I have a specialist building custom springs in the UK

He will build me custom springs for my yellowspeed coilsprings set

what I need is the front and rear axle weight

If anyone has access to a weighing machine and could post these weights for a CL600 or CL65

Please mention if you have a spare wheel and tank level

I will post the specs and info here so you can make your own

the specs you get with yellowspeed is front 14kg/mm rear 10kg/mm (this is wrong) got this first from here https://mbworld.org/forums/cl55-amg-...tallation.html

My CL600 2003 recieved 20kg in the front and 16kg rear

this means they send out with several diferent springs

NEW info: CL500 kit comes with 14 front 16 rear

they can build up to 24kg/mm

thx

yep

want to try 22kg front and 18 rear

good side is more lowering possible as the car will bounce less

but need to compage and calculate with them first, never played with this before

Interested

I have full swap done on my S55, with sway bars retro fitted front and rear. I would be interested in heavy springs to reduce the bounce. I might just go with cieka struts with the rubber top struts. How do you figure out the correct Spring rate? Mine are 14-10 at least that what they said. Very interested!!

Hi

so now confirmed, yellowspeed send front 14 and rear 10 for CL500/cl55
and 20 front 16 rear for cl600/65

I had many option, but the spring factory told me the best thing would be to send my springs to him, he would calculate what the are in real (he said many are not acurate to the given specs)
then I might have to go up to 28 front 24 rear

my company is in the UK, there are many in the US too

I will be doing all this this summer but don't know when
means you should jump yours from 14 to 22 and 10 to 18
maybe 20-16

may I ask if when hooking up rear sway bars, was it much work ?

Rear sway

You have to lower the rear sub frame. To retro fit the rear sway. I did the rear sub frame bushings also, if you just wanted to install the sway you might be able to snake it in there with out completely removing it. I will probably just get new struts from cieka with the update Spring rates. The bounce really ruins the coilovers on the street.

mmm, can't swear because I have been doing so many things at the same time

but you can tell that all these arms have rubber, and 14 year old rubber........
you know what I mean

It was very cheap, at least here in Europe, I had choice of 4 different brands
