Check Coolant Level warning.
2005 CL 600. Check Coolant level warning came on, expansion tank level nearly full, engine temp gauge wandering between 85c-95c when freeway driving. Coolant level warning continues to come on after driving for 2-3 minutes. Water pump and hoses recently replaced. Any ideas why the warning message keeps popping up? This only happened 1000 miles after water pump replacement. No leaks are apparent.

The 2000 to 2002 CL has terrible low beam headlights. I blamed this on the lenses, and kept polishing away, without any improvement. I then found out that the factory actually installed a very thin plastic cover over the glass lense. - removing this lense cover does not improve the low beam. Mercedes, starting with the 2003 model, did come out with a much improved headlight. In order to update the earlier CL you have to buy the later headlights, plus a $250.00 wiring harness. I have not done this - it would almost add 50% to the cost of todays market value for these cars. Might as well start looking for a 2003 or later model....
