swap your injectors

swap your injectors
here are the pictures
you might not be able to remove the rail and injectors in one piece
better disconnect rail
gaskets are hard and old
you can buy tested recent second hand injectors and service them with SeaFoam if you have skills
don't forget to replace all 24 top and bottom gaskets if your injectors don't have them, around 85$ at MB
to put the injectors back, put them on the rail, grease them with Vaseline or rubber proof grease, same engine side
the whole rail will swap in under the electrical wires from the driver side
no need to disconnect everything
have fun

Because I bought this car 2 years ago with everything on top of the engine overheated
originally I replaced all hoses and sensors as they where breaking hard
now that I have been searching for perfection I am looking for 0 ignition faults
last thing to check was this
now I have 0 faults, even with 6000 rpm

Good to hear!
I have a slight smooth running fault when cold on 2 cylinders, goes away after 2 minutes. I think its injectors but don't want to pay £800 for injectors, How do you repair the old ones?

Excelent, halway through doing mine now. Sending mine off to be cleaned/flow tested, as 65 amg injectors are hard to find second hand.

A word of warning. When I removed my injectors with the rail, 8 of the 12 injector plastic top hats came off with them and fell into the engine. On 2 cylinders the inlet valve was open and I had to retrieve them from the cylinder with a vacuum and a endoscope camera.

best is to blow the whole top engine
then, before removing injectors, disconnect them from the rail by moving the clips back
then W40 around the injectors
blow air again
and always close the turbo inlets with a tissue once you remove the air flltes !
if a screw falls in there, you still have a change with a magnet

FYI, there are specialized shops that will test, clean, and rebuild your injectors...new screens, o-rings, etc...cheap with specialized equipment, quick turnaround.
