Question on How to Replace Strut's Boot

The left front strut's boot on my 02 CL500 is pretty much gone due to old age but the strut is still fine as it's bone dried. There are aftermarket boots available now for our cars. Has anyone made an attempt to replace w/ these boots? In order to replace it, I think one will need to separate the top strut mount then disconnect the hydraulic line from the strut in order to be able to slip the new boot in from the top down, correct?

I looked at the OEM strut boot & looks like if I want to replace it, I'll have to disconnect the hydraulic hose in order to slip the new boot over from the top down. Will leave it "as-is" for now.
