Say, my trunk stopped opening via the indoor release [the red light no longer comes on] or the key. However, after manually opening it it will close by pushing the close button in the trunk lid[ you can close or close and lock]
I have read the threads about broken wiring and I looked and do not see that. I have read a thread about rebuilding or replacing a part in the trunk related to the vacuum air actuating system of the trunk. But I am perplexed on it closing via the trunk button in the trunk but the door button or key will not open or close?
If you could comment and direct me to the thread if its been covered I would really appreciate it.. I cross the border frequently and I'm tired of getting out the car to open my trunk for inspection lol
Benzninja, Thanks for the info. I changed the fluid in the trunk pump reservoir. Had some black residue on the bottom of the cup which I wiped out. It did not appear low. No change. I can hear a latch/unlatch or some actuation when I used the electric key trunk open button but the door trunk release red light is still off and nether the door trunk release or key trunk release opens the trunk.
