or comparable aftermarket warranty that is superior? i.e. if my abc malfunctions or my e-brake system blows up or something.

Not very many aftermarket warranties cover the electronics in the car...I checked around and couldn't find one. I think www.warrantydirect.com has one but I'm not sure on the details. I just got a 5 year/50,000 mile warranty for a 2000 S430 at 55,000 miles for $3,590 from Lisa Lehrbaum at Courtesy Motors (800) 655-3535. It's a Chrysler warranty that now includes MB and is pretty much bumper-to-bumper.

It excludes maintainance, services, items used in services, wear items like manual clutches, brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, belts, glass or plastic lenses, body and paint items including soft trim, snow plows, winches, and trailor hitches.

Seems great to me! Not sure how much a factory warranty would be, because we don't qualify for it. I heard there are different levels of coverage though, so make sure to check that out. I think the best ones are those that say specifically what they EXCLUDE.

I believe the warranty for my CL is from a company called EasyCare, it was 3,000 and covers everything. It covers electronics, navigation, bumper to bumper. 3 years or 75 K miles.
I had the ABC fixed ($800) and something else....shoot forgot what it was, it was another $500. Deductible is $200, or if I take it to dealer I bought car from, it is $100. It also pays for a rental car while car is being worked on.

The $3600 may sound high, but pales in comparison with the expenses that I (& partially MBUSA) incurred on my 2000 S430. Mine was first out of the gate in March 1999 so I may have had more than my fair share of problems including electronics (Comand etc), suspension (catastrophic Airmatic failure). The $$$ were unbelievable. MBUSA did contribute, but the lesson learned was dont get caught without a warranty. The fact that yours is underwritten by Daimler makes it all the better.

I have an '01 CL600. My factory warranty expires next month. The local dealer has an extended warranty company called Millenium Platinum coverage which is backed by Allstate. The cost is $3100/4 years/ 60,000 miles with a $100 deductible. I only plan to keep the car for another 18 mos. when the lease is up and move into the new CL or S class. They will prorate the premium so I only have to pay for the time I keep the car. There are many excluded items in this warranty.

Does anyone have any familiarity with this warranty?

That's not a bad price for a V12. What are the exclusions? Will they cover AMG cars?

They won't cover AMG cars.

Exclusions as attached. Let me know what you guys think of this warranty. I guess it's pretty standard according to my dealer.
