Just picked up a brand new CL 550 Launch Edition this past Wednesday
I wasn't able to test drive a CL. Could only drive an S and it had too much body roll but I believe it didn't have ABC.
I am moving from an SL500 which is but a bit hard riding depending on the road.
I ordered the CL though hoping it will between the SL & the S.
To Florida Joe, yes it does drive much better than an S 550. The dealership here in Atlanta lent me an S 550 for a weekend and I thought it was nice but too large for my tastes right now and not quite sporty enough. The CL is just the right balance in my humble opinion. Maybe I'm just imagining it but also the fit and finish and materials of this new CL seem to be a good deal superior to the S 550. Every single surface in this CL is either covered in Premium Leather, Alcantara, Wood, or Metal. No plastic like I saw in the S 550 dash and upper doors, and no fabric on the ceiling like the S, just alcantara. It has absolutely no body roll that I can feel because it has ABC. The factory 19" multi-piece AMG wheels (exclusive to the Launch Edition CL I'm hearing) with the staggered-width grippy Continental ContiSportContact2 275/40/YR-19's out back and 245/40/YR-19's up front provide for outstanding traction and control. The Conti's are a good deal noiser than the 275 width P-Zero Nero's I used to have on my 745Li though. Brakes are excellent, and I believe it has the SBC too. It is still the quietest coupe I've ever been in for sure. You'll love the car. Later on I'd like to add the rear trunk spoiler from the CL 63, illuminated door sills, Kleemann ECU upgrade, PermaFinish paint protection with 3M Clear Bra, K40, and possibly Sport Package kit. But for now I'm satisfied with it being completely stock.
